Endure and persist; this pain will turn to your good. - Ovid

Therefore, since we have been justified through faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom we have gained access by faith into this grace in which we now stand. And we rejoice in the hope of the glory of God. Not only so, but we also rejoice in our sufferings, because we know that suffering produces perseverance; perseverance, character; and character, hope. And hope does not disappoint us, because God has poured out his love into our hearts by the Holy Spirit, whom he has given us. - Romans 5:1-5

AM - ran the dog around the block, then ran to breakfast.

noon - did the First Dam Run 10K route as a tuneup for Painters. It's been awhile since I've done a real workout on the roads, so I wanted to make sure I still have "it" and push into LT pace. Mile splits were 5:57, 5:41, 5:52, 5:22, 5:21, 5:24. I started dragging the last mile, but it was still a solid run. I think with a little raceday magic, I might be able to pull out a 1:11 or 1:12 or so. Fitness/endurance is definitely not where I want it to be, but speed is okay. We'll see!

You call that a workout :) The boys from southern utah will be ready for you come saturday. You better bring your "A" game. JK Holt will be ready I'm sure. But I am looking forward to finally meeting you.

I'll be happy to stick anywhere close to a 1:11. I think the real champ will be ol' Hayden. He looks like he's ready for a 1:10 with the workouts he's been hitting - or maybe that Kenyan we saw last Saturday on the course!
