Noon run, mostly cloudy, temp 50'

Nice day for a run.  My brain was fried but my body was fresh and I listened to my brain.  It told me that it didn't have enough energy left to push my body and to just enjoy the run which I did.  I think I need a vacation from work.

Terry good job being a smart guy and listening to your brain today.

I know I'm certainly looking forward to our vacation next week so I hope you get to have one soon too. Perhaps we will see the Blauers at Disneyland.

Hey Kim and I decided to run a 5K (Kim) and 10K (me) in St. George this Saturday since we'll be staying there Friday night. Any advice? The course is a downhill then uphill loop course as near as I can tell. I think with the lower elevation and if I'm recovered enough from the 1/2 marathon I should be able to get under 38:30. I think Kim can get under 25 for the 5K.

I know the beginning of the year is always crazy for you at work. I hope it soon settles down and you get to take a break! Careful with that brain...don't overload it!

Sounds like a perfect weekend to do a hard run. I think you can get a sub 38:30 if you can get yourself movtivated to run like a race. You'll have lower elevation and warmer weather to deal with compared to the SL10K in Feb.

I'm not as sure about Kim getting under 25. I think Kim has the ability but the mind has to be willing to go through the pain. Kim's been doing a lot of long runs and not as much short painful fast. Good Luck, I'll be interested to find out how you did.

Also, Tom I'm a terrible uphill runner when it is at the end of a race. For some reason I feel like I'm going to slow and I listen to my mind that is telling me to slow down. However, when it is down hill near the end I keep pushing and don't listen to the evil wimpy spirit that is trying to slow me down. Good luck on the uphill near the end.
