Long run in San Francisco, where I spent a day and a half relaxing after the conference. I stayed at a little hostel/B&B in a place called Hayes Valley, which is a great neighborhood. It's easy to run up the hill to Golden Gate Park, and then I crisscrossed that huge park all the way out to the Pacific Ocean. About 40 minutes on the way out. Stood and contemplated life there for awhile, then ran back through the north side of the park. At about 55 minutes, as I was coming up to the park's bigger structures, I got a second win and threw in a fast mile (the SF State XC team ran by, so maybe I'm a little competative). But it came naturally and felt good, which is pretty encouraging for not running that far very often. Then up this hill to Alamo Park some guy kind and I had this unspoken little race, it was funny. He surged to beat me, then quit running a block later as I cruised back into Hayes Valley.
Anyway, really good long run and I'd love to live in SF. Very sore/tight calves afterward. 1:15:00
