A few laps around the Shore Drive loop, easy pace on a flat route. My legs actually feel find today, not really sore at all. New pair of shoes.
Me and my son Alexander live in Sandy Utah. Looks like you used to live down here in Utah. I used to live in Washington and will eventually return there when I retire - have already bought a home in Sequim which we are now renting.
We will be up there next weekend and running in a 5K at Bremerton, I think it is called race for literacy. We did it last year too. Then following weekend will do a 5K in Aberdeen (parents live in Montesano)
How is the running community up that way? I know of the North Olympic Discovery race. My son is an active USATF member but Im not sure how active USATF is on the peninsula. I doubt there is alot up there for kids running clubs at least where we will eventually live. I had sent email messages earlier to get some preliminary info to Barron Park Striders(Olympia) and a South Kitsap club, but noone responded. Any ideas for kid racers up there? I guess as far as other road races there are 3 or 4 in Sequim/Port Angeles area and some in your area, other than that I guess you have to go to Olympia or take the ferry across the sound? Thanks
I'm not sure about kids running clubs because I don't have children, but there is a little running community here. The North Olympic Discovery races are huge, they draw a lot of people. The South Kitsap club is a loosely organized group, people of all abilities meet in downtown Port Orchard every Saturday morning around 6:30 and run the same route, so you know there will be others out there. There's also a running shop in Poulsbo (Poulsbo Running) that has good connections and puts on a race series.
I would do the race for literacy but I'll be out of town. Hope you guys have fun.
