Personal:

Started running in November 2007 to get fit. Now I'm back almost to square one after back surgery. I did it once and I'll do it again.

"In truth, runners don't race other runners. They race against themselves: to conquer their wills, to transcend their weaknesses, to beat back their nightmares. And while a runner can't actually beat himself, he can beat his time. Even years into running, he can get better."  Running for His Life by Michael Hall.

After LL practice w/ my youngest son I went on a run w/ my youngest daughter. It was the longest run of her 10 yr old life. So proud of her. She loves to run w/ dad and wants to win medals someday, Crossing my fingers that I won't do anything to screw up her obvious passion and talent for running.

Another evening run w/ my daughter. She WILL NOT let me go w/o her. Honestly, as slow as I am these days it doesn't slow me down either. More than anything I love that in the 4th grade she already has a passion for running.
