Personal:

Started running in November 2007 to get fit. Now I'm back almost to square one after back surgery. I did it once and I'll do it again.

"In truth, runners don't race other runners. They race against themselves: to conquer their wills, to transcend their weaknesses, to beat back their nightmares. And while a runner can't actually beat himself, he can beat his time. Even years into running, he can get better."  Running for His Life by Michael Hall.

Finally getting over this horrible head cold I developed after taking the Boy Scouts camping in the snow over the weekend.  4M of light hill work on the TM (topping out at 4% incline).

640AM: 5 easy miles on the TM; a little sore from last night's late hill training.  Starting two-a-days today to make up for Monday and Tuesday.  I'll try to continue them through the marathon in early May.

9PM: some light core work followed by 5 easy miles on the TM; bad blister on the top of one of my toes that bled horribly.  Who knew that you could bleed so much from such a tiny little cut?

Long, slow easy run in the rain.  Felt really good for the first 10 but I really struggled after that.  Partly from poor fitness, partly from being water logged and partly due to an enormous stomach ache.
