Slept in again today and upon rising, went immediatly to the dentist to get two cavities filled.  She gave me the tooth anesthesia and I thought my teeth were numb when she asked me if they felt numb, but then they didn't feel that numb when she started drilling.  I kept thinking in my head maybe I should ask for more anesthesia.....nah, its not that bad.  OUCH!  That was bad.  Maybe I should ask for more.  Nah, I'm sure she's almost done...clenching my fist and wincing my eye......argh...maybe I should ask for more anesthesia....oh that area didn't hurt....I'll just let it go...OUCH..maybe I should ask for more.  This cycle went on for a good 10 minutes, so I finally let her know it was pretty sensitive and she's like "Oh, do you want me to give you more anesthesia? 'Cause I'm finished drilling now."  Naturally. Just when you think you cant bear any more pain, the pain ends. So true to life.

Meese Allie, meese.

Nan, I thought you loved pain..?

From Nan Kennard on Wed, Sep 23, 2009 at 15:46:08 from 174.51.250.151

"The word "moose" came to us from Algonquian Indians. Consequently its plural, instead of being "mooses" or "meese", is the same as the singular. That is true of most Indian names whether of a tribe, such as the Winnebago and Potawatomi, or of an object such as papoose. It is also true of many wildlife names not of Indian origin -- for example: deer, mink and grouse."

Burt, I do love pain actually. Thanks for reminding me. I think I'll go in for a root canal next week without anesthetics. That sounds heavenly.

All right smarty pants. You have just deprived me of a liftime of joy of being able to laugh at Allie behind her back everytime I hear her use the word meese!

ever seen a moose with a papoose? or mooses with papooses? or coyotes?

From Sasha Pachev on Wed, Sep 23, 2009 at 17:02:29 from 192.168.1.1

I learned that the plural of moose is moose after the last year's TOU half. Paul and I saw two of them during the warm-up and neither of us was quite sure how to say it. So I looked it up when I got home while writing my race report. One of the side benefits of the blog is that it can help you improve your writing skills.

Post-marathon tooth pain sensitivity is an interesting subject to explore. Perhaps what happens is that all of the pain management resources have been spent on dealing with the running pain so that there is not much left for anything else.

Coyotes. LOL!
