This was a hike. But I don't really know how to record this week, so I'll just try to explain day by day. We hiked to see if we could do this trail for the course... it was about 4 hours of hiking... so 5-8 miles is my guess.

Actually ran today. One of my friends and I got up 2 hours before participants came and we tried to find a better trail than the one that happened yesterday. Unfortunately running at 9000 feet was much easier for me than for my friend (who is in far better shape than me really.) So we ran for 26-31ish minutes out of the 3 or 4 hours... I stopped watching the clock when we stopped running the second time. I'm pretty sure we went at least 6.5 and less than 9. Overall with 2-4 running

This 5 was backpacking. I split my kids into two groups and mine just burned through the trail, we made it to 4.5 in about 1:02, not bad for packing speed.

This was backpacking back to camp. We went slower because apparently we were supposed to stay together (oops.) I jogged for a bit this time because I just got bored with playing sweeper at the back.  This was way hotter than going down hill in the rain yesterday.

Other than walking around camp I didn't do anything today....  Well core--which I also did other days before this by the way.  Actually this might have been the day I did shoulder tagging with Allen and David (a Krav Maga student and a football player) that's a good aerobic workout. Taylor, Ben, it's on.

Also I did swim today too. Not far, just a couple laps to pass my swim check, but it was in 48 degree water so I think I burned a disproportionate amount of calories.

Cold day. Mostly because I tipped my kayak twice...and couldn't get back up (that was the lame part.) Between kayaking; swimming my boat to the dock; more kayaking (more swimming); and running, jumping, and squatting to get warm I got a good 3 hours of aerobic workout. Actual running was probably only 15-20 minutes of it. But my calf were really burning by the end of all my jumps.

Also I need to show Taylor my new (least?) favorite situps.
