I would like to be able to keep up with my daughter.  The one who runs xc, not the one who's going to change the world through dance.  Although I would like to be able to dance also, so I change that to me wanting to be able to keep up with both my daughters.

p90x upper body - I liked this, despite the instructor calling bent over rows "heavy pants".

Went into ab ripper right after.  Did better this time.

Then participated in a chess tournament with different rules.  1 move, 3 pushups.

3 games and 270 pushups later -  I took second place.  Out of two people.  He got a tee shirt.  I got arms of jello.

Bummer you did not get the t-shirt. I love what you guys think of to do in your spare time. 270 push ups is not my idea of a fun game!

Was that a nick name for bent over rows or was he dumb? I still want to try the ab program.

There's always room for jello.

What Jello flavor?

Right on. Gratz on doing so well in your tourny. Sounds like a great workout for the mind and body.

Ha, second place, heavy pants. :)

From Teena on Fri, May 01, 2009 at 16:01:38 from 67.177.20.13

Okay ... Ry didn't end up buying the P90x stuff ... but he should, right? Would he like it? Maybe I will order it for him. I don't want it to come across wrong though ... I only want to order it because I think he will like it!! Hmmm ... what to do??

Arms of Jello??? YEAH RIGHT!!! Your self-depracating remarks are hilarious, but so untrue!!!

Kelli, I don't know why they call things what they do. Heavy pants baffles me. Do they mean trousers that weigh a ton or ragged breathing? Who knows?

Sage words, Burt.

Beefcake flavor, Eric.

You didn't let your child win, Sam? You are competitive!

Mark, it certainly frazzled both.

What is the legal definition of heavy pants, Paul? Can I sue for dorkiness?

Teena, there are 12 discs and I've tried 5 of them so far. The ab workout is only 16 minutes long but it's brutal. I liked the plys, yoga and chest/back workouts too. The only one I haven't liked so far is the kickboxing video, because I thought it was boring. There's a lot of variety in the individual workouts. And the kickboxing was a good workout despite being dull.

So now I'm really curious on the Px90 stuff. Do you follow the diet and supplements? Are the workouts worth doing on there own?

From montelepsy on Fri, May 01, 2009 at 16:49:16 from 155.85.58.253

I don't do the diet stuff nor take supplements, unless carrot cake is considered a supplement. Then I take a lot of supplements.

The workouts are really intense. Nothing revolutionary, but they're good workouts. And the instructor is fun to make fun of.

From RivertonPaul on Fri, May 01, 2009 at 16:53:58 from 67.42.27.114

mmmmmm, carrot cake.

Well, other than my 2 classes, about all I do is pushups, which I can hit 100+, but I need to do more core and pullups and all that other good stuff.

And I've not been playing chess either, dang, I've really been slacking.

From montelepsy on Fri, May 01, 2009 at 16:59:39 from 155.85.58.253

100+ is fantastic! Have you incorporated reverse pushups into your routine? If not try a couple and see how you like them. Stand with your back to a corner, lean back into it, stick your elbows out shoulder height then use your back to press yourself out of the corner.

From RivertonPaul on Fri, May 01, 2009 at 17:07:51 from 67.42.27.114

Thanks, I will have to try some of those -- I've never done them.

From sam on Sat, May 02, 2009 at 11:34:29 from 90.210.160.129

What can I say I dont like to lose, but Dylans beat me before at chess, I let him of course :-0

Yes I have a bad competitive streak
