Personal:

I used to run for BYU, but only after trying out three times and finally walking on, so I was never a star. However, it was wonderful to run with great people and under Coach Shane. When you run with fast people, you can't help to improve! I graduated BYU in 1998, and didn't run a race until 2002, after having my second child. My hiatus and other crazy life commitments have made my competitive running suffer, but the last couple of years I have tried to get back into it the best I can. I have been married since 1996, to Paul Lowry, who is a runner himself. I have three boys (my three rascals), ages 12, 10, and 8.

After a great 2008 season, I was injured and eventually diagnosed and cross-diagnosed with Ankylosing Spondylitis, a type of arthritis disease, which precludes running for all but the most stubborn.  So I am on medications, trying to stay healthy, and seeing my PT often.  And running!  Now beating the streets in Hong Kong.

Walked .25, jogged .25, then stretched, then ran 6.75 on treadmill eased into 7:35 pace on treadmill, though ave pace was more like 7:50 overall

 Got a root canal yesterday.  Had a nightmare last night that my temporary crown fell out (already).  I expect it to fall out at some point, I guess I am just cynical like that.  The temporary will be in for 2.5 weeks--unless it falls out.

I hope that the temp doesn't fall out while running! Good job on getting on that dreadmill and running! That is a hard thing to do!

Well, join the crowd...I had some minor oral surgery Tuesday. The doctor discovered that I was an ultrarunner and kept trying to find out more as he was cutting up my mouth. I kept thinking, "Pay attention to my mouth!" At the end he said they normally tell people not to exercise for awhile but he knew I would ignore that. "Well, after you run, you will swell up, just use an ice pack afterwards." Sure enough, I've been a chipmunk all week. My temp is hanging in there.

Who's your dentist? Mine usually only takes less than a week...

The only thing I see 'falling out' is your weight girlie! It keeps creeping down and you look fantastic btw! (I realize it's not all about how you look with the weight thing, , ,I am trying to slim down so I can be faster, looking good is a by-product, but seriously, I'd gain weight if it made me FASTER!)

treadmill = blah!

Crockett-no signs of infection yet.

Clay-hey bud, haven't seen you on the road yet, hope all is well. Dr. Moody in Provo is the doc. about 4 days of the wait is me finding and appointment time that works for me.

Amber - wanted to be 125 for the race last week, but not enough to eat perfectly. Being dietarily virtuous is so hard, it is my achilles heel.

Dietarily Integruous!

Incongruous? yes, that's it, I am nutritiously incongruous :)

Banana baby!

Wait.....I need some of that chocolate cake. I guess I can wait until your birthday :)

Oh yeah, everybody, Michelle is going to have a birthday soon and doesn't want a party. Should we ignore her????

Tyler- btw, your pie crust is the DEVIL!!! My poor family is addicted! I made it with whole wheat four for a HUGE turkey pot pie (10x15). It was over the top amazing!!! My life is now complete.

That temporary cement sometimes works too well. I have an implant on my front tooth secured with temp cement- been there for 13 years, now. The other one (also with temp cement) lasted 4 years, I think.
