Personal:

I used to run for BYU, but only after trying out three times and finally walking on, so I was never a star. However, it was wonderful to run with great people and under Coach Shane. When you run with fast people, you can't help to improve! I graduated BYU in 1998, and didn't run a race until 2002, after having my second child. My hiatus and other crazy life commitments have made my competitive running suffer, but the last couple of years I have tried to get back into it the best I can. I have been married since 1996, to Paul Lowry, who is a runner himself. I have three boys (my three rascals), ages 12, 10, and 8.

After a great 2008 season, I was injured and eventually diagnosed and cross-diagnosed with Ankylosing Spondylitis, a type of arthritis disease, which precludes running for all but the most stubborn.  So I am on medications, trying to stay healthy, and seeing my PT often.  And running!  Now beating the streets in Hong Kong.

Ran 22 miles in Dallas off of next to no sleep.  Went into exercise room way before the 6am opening time.  Watched ESPN because it was that or power rangers or infomercials.  Ran 9.35.  Then ran outside for just over 6 miles.  It was so hot already!  I couldn't keep a fast enough pace in the mugginess to get in 22 miles, so went back on the treadmill, the inside was much less humid and had a/c.  Finished up 6:40 or faster pace for 5 miles, minus .3  when I worked through a cramp.

When got home drove 1.25 hours home, then got the family ready for an overnight trip in Perry Utah, drove 2 hours up to Paul's parents for family pictures.

Good times.

OK, this almost beats my getting off the plane after 28 hours and moving, then running the Park City Marathon story. Missing the plane, running 22 miles in Dallas on a treadmill, and then going to a family reunion in one breath....how are you still breathing? I just came up from air on the other side of insanity, and reading this is making me need a nap. I hope you're 'recovering'. Oh yeah, you're wresteling a pig for fun this weekend. That'll fix everything :)

No WE are wrestling a pig, aren't we?

Your business beats my business hands down. I did come down with sickness, if you read my blog from this week. It catches up to you. . .I was napping today, almost asleep when a smoke alarm in a vaulted area went off (just needed new batteries). Drug up two ladders, settled on and adjustable, adjusted it a couple of times until it got to the size I needed. Then I really fell asleep, only to be woken up 20 minutes later by my MOTHER who is in my home, blasting her bizarre talk radio channel. She thought all my banging around was me leaving :D got to love having visitors.

No I don't love having visitors. My sis and her 4 boys (all size 16 shoe, and 6'5 and taller) came to help me move. It was like being in small quarters with 4 St. Bernards. That and my sister had her own agenda for the whole time she was here. On top of moving, and my not knowing where ANYTHING is anymore, she needed all of my camping gear so she and her boys could go hike Mt. Timp with a friend of mine. So they dumped my stuff in the new house, dug my camping gear out of the pile and left me alone in the house with over 500 boxes filled illogically (kitchen stuff with garage tools) and no stove, fridge, microwave. I probably would have slept through the fire alarm. But Blasting talk radio through the house....that might have woken me up. I may recover in time for pig wreseling--but you guys will totally be able to dump me in that barrel. I won't even squirm...

I would not like to have a family foto taken right now. I may be flipping some of them off by accident in the picture.
