Personal:

I used to run for BYU, but only after trying out three times and finally walking on, so I was never a star. However, it was wonderful to run with great people and under Coach Shane. When you run with fast people, you can't help to improve! I graduated BYU in 1998, and didn't run a race until 2002, after having my second child. My hiatus and other crazy life commitments have made my competitive running suffer, but the last couple of years I have tried to get back into it the best I can. I have been married since 1996, to Paul Lowry, who is a runner himself. I have three boys (my three rascals), ages 12, 10, and 8.

After a great 2008 season, I was injured and eventually diagnosed and cross-diagnosed with Ankylosing Spondylitis, a type of arthritis disease, which precludes running for all but the most stubborn.  So I am on medications, trying to stay healthy, and seeing my PT often.  And running!  Now beating the streets in Hong Kong.

Happy Thanksgiving all!  It was Thanksgiving here, but then it wasn't.  Kids were at school, and we are hosting Thanksgiving with two other families on Saturday.  Why did I volunteer to host my first year here?  I am wondering?  It is so hard to find all the ingredients you need.  I have been to 6 stores (one of them three times) in the last week gathering ingredients.  I think I am ready!

20 min elliptical this morning, then 20 min very easy jog.  Every step hurt, quads were still sore, but the first 4 minutes of the run were the worst.  Started at 6.0 and ended at 6.7 mph, so truly easy pace.

Happy Thanksgiving to you! Did you make your Bourbon Pie? Hope so....I don't like pie but still remember enjoying my sliver last year in Marions car. Good Times :) I ate 2 bean medley burritos and a slice of banana creamless pie...so good! After I got home from my moms I wanted to order a pizza....hehe

Glad to see you already getting back on that horse with eyes to the future. Happy Thanksgiving! And, you are nuts for volunteering to host. ;)

I was wondering what you would do on Turkey day. I hope you had a great day.

Thanks Smooth! I have an almost weekly reminder of you in the form of Lily and Gary :D Just talked with them yesterday and Gary gave me a nice pep talk :D

MacK-burritos on thanksgiving? That's just wrong. I did make choc pecan pie, left out the Bourbon in deference to one of our guests who is conservative. I have bourbon in the cabinet, though for the next round. The pie was so good.

April- it was kind of crazy, but it turned out well, and alot (but not all) of the nooks and crannies of my home got cleaned so that's a good thing.

Amber-recipe is really easy. You can search for it on food.com, this is the website I use all the time.

Josse-wish I could have been running the race with you. It was a good day, though. I was less stressed hosting friends and in a small kitchen than I have been with family in a large kitchen. Go figure.
