Personal:

I used to run for BYU, but only after trying out three times and finally walking on, so I was never a star. However, it was wonderful to run with great people and under Coach Shane. When you run with fast people, you can't help to improve! I graduated BYU in 1998, and didn't run a race until 2002, after having my second child. My hiatus and other crazy life commitments have made my competitive running suffer, but the last couple of years I have tried to get back into it the best I can. I have been married since 1996, to Paul Lowry, who is a runner himself. I have three boys (my three rascals), ages 12, 10, and 8.

After a great 2008 season, I was injured and eventually diagnosed and cross-diagnosed with Ankylosing Spondylitis, a type of arthritis disease, which precludes running for all but the most stubborn.  So I am on medications, trying to stay healthy, and seeing my PT often.  And running!  Now beating the streets in Hong Kong.

Met Mack for a run in the am. 6.32 in 50 min.

PT appt: left outer knee, right adductor (knot right in the middle), left ankle area, right ham.  Pt exercises and new tape. I need to check out my blood.  It's been thin (clotting is slower) and I have been having a bit of vertigo - feeling like I am not quite touching ground or like I might lose balance.  I thought it was from excess mass transit and walking in Hong Kong, but its still with me a bit.  But feeling like I am not touching the ground should mean that I should run faster, right?  My PT said that thinner blood might mean I have less oxygen flowing around.   I'm going to request my blood results from my doctor (I had it tested several weeks ago).

My mom entered into holy matrimony for the fifth time at night.  We went to chef's table and had dessert.  I had the molten lava cake with ice cream.  Luckily, nice restaurant means small portions.  Unluckily, the kitchen brought out extra desserts since we were a wedding party.  I had about 1/4 of a german chocolate cake, which was really like a wedge-shaped ganache/mousse concoction with coconut and caramel.  Super fueling for 10k?

If it makes you feel any better, the Roneys (of NuSkin) have a sister whose been married 9 times. My Dad was married 4 and thankfully died of a stroke before he could hit up #5. But hey, at least you got some cake out of the deal. Here's to your new stepdad.

Also, you may need iron and a bunch of other stuff...but you don't feel like you're feet are touching ground, or that you're losing oxygen because you just traveled like 10 time zones. Even for in shape people, traveling takes a few days to climatize. Heading back from sea level to dizzying heights dry Utah is enough. Not to say, we could all use a little more B complex. I can not get over you're week.....topped by the race. WOW.

Luz, not sure what I need, but something is up.

Maurine-true it may not be the nicest thing to discuss the number, but it's been a traumatic road for all of us in my family. This husband is wonderful and I am hoping it works out.

I would imagine it is quite hard to try and develop relationships each time. I have not had to deal with it myself (although I desperately prayed for years that my parents would divorce) I am glad that this new husband is wonderful.

What I was referring to more is that I seem to be the type that doesn't even have men interested in dating me - so my kids will probably never even have to worry about a marriage number 2.

Could you have an inner ear infection that might be causing the imbalance feeling?
