Did a half a few years ago, unsure of my time but nothing to write home about. I trained about 6 months and then took about 2yrs. off. Started running again this year but have never done anything serious.

Short-Term Running Goals:

keep running, stay fit and healthy, while having fun. Would like to get my mileage up to 25 miles a week and plan some short races when I get confident with my speed.

Long-Term Running Goals:

Get my mileage back up and run pain free!

When I got off work this A.M. driving home the temp. outside was 69 degrees. I knew I should go out and do a couple of miles, but I was just too tired! I knew I would regret it later, and I was right. So when I got up around 12:30 I worked on a few skirts for the trek and then decided no time like the present and headed for the treadmill ( Yes, you heard correctly the treadmill ) I knew I wouldn't get around to it later so that was the only alternative. I did 2 miles and then stopped and stetched for a minute and then 1 mile stopped and stretched again and then 1 more mile for a total of 4. I don't know why the treadmill is so mentally tough for me. The stretching was more of a mental rest than physical just to get through. But now I am off to make bonnets! Maybe the treadmill wasn't so bad, I am not much of a seamstress and the fits and fights that I sometimes get into with the sewing machine can rival any well meant two yearolds tantrum, only I can't send it for a timeout because in the end I am at it's mercy! Wish me luck! I think actually pulling the handcarts will be like cake compared to the 6 skirts and 3 bonnets I'm somehow trying to produce :)

Wow! So you are a nurse, Mommy, seamstress, and a runner all in one. I know what you mean about the sewing machine. All I have to do is look at a sewing machine and the thread tension goes balistic. Good luck!
