Did a half a few years ago, unsure of my time but nothing to write home about. I trained about 6 months and then took about 2yrs. off. Started running again this year but have never done anything serious.

Short-Term Running Goals:

keep running, stay fit and healthy, while having fun. Would like to get my mileage up to 25 miles a week and plan some short races when I get confident with my speed.

Long-Term Running Goals:

Get my mileage back up and run pain free!

Went out a little later than I should have so I didn't have as much time as I wanted before I had to go to work.  It felt pretty cold even with my nice new running clothes.  A hour later when I went to work the temp. was around 22, I've ran in much cooler weather this year but there must have been a cold breeze blowing.  BRRRR!!!    Most of the run felt like I was running in slow motion and felt really slow.  Ave. pace 9:44, I'm stuck at this pace and I can't seem to kick it any faster???  UGGGG!

I bet all you need to get you going a little faster is a little race, say, PAINTER'S HALF MARATHON, which I hope hope hope you will run with me! I never pictured myself running that without you there. But I'll be okay if you decide not to do it--maybe cry for a few days is all. *Evil Snicker*

Michelle, I have felt "stuck" at the same pace for a while too. Every once in a while I kick it up, and it feels fine. However, I have been surprising myself at races, and I think you are probably in much better shape than you think. Plus, you run in CRAZY conditions that we never have to worry about down here in Phoenix! Keep it up, and you will gradually get faster. I think you're doing great!

Thanks, Michelle. When I feel like I'm stuck I back things off and wait for a better day. I think listening to the body works better than the same routine all the time.
