Well a big THANKS to Brent, Lybi, Kim, Mik'L and my Husnband for the encouraging runs this week and getting me out there to get in a good long run today!!! I think I might have skipped out on running all together today or done a whimpy 2 miles on the treadmill, but I checked all the blogs and with Brents encouragement and seeing everyone's progress I decided to go for it when my husband offered to drop me off in Monroe as he went to work on a project for me! I was a litttle afraid of the cold but the sun was shining so I figured I would be o.k. and if not my husband would be along to check on me. As soon as I started I knew that it was going to be a great run! The sun was shining and even though cold I felt really good. Not long after starting I saw a bald eagle in a tree, throughout the run several hawks. My husband came along around mile 8 to offer water but I didn't want to stop and it was hard to drink, run and untwist the bottle with gloves so I only got a swallow. But I felt pretty good througout and hope that I'll be good for 3 more in Jan. Still looking at Painter of more of a training run, but if will be fun to get together and run with other people and friends! My ipod said 10.37, roughly the car said 10.00 and the ipod said average pace was 9:42. We didn't go straight through with the car so maybe that is the difference, but I'll go with the 10:00. Looking forward to the day off tomorrow and upcoming week of family and fun!!! Have a Merry Christmas everyone!!! (even with some patheric runs this week, still made my 30 mile goal!!!)

Yay Michelle!

I love how we can help each other out on the blog! Great 10 miler! I love the things we are able to see while we are out on a run instead of sitting home or whatever else. How cool to see a bald eagle! The bald eagle probably went home to his own blog and was excited about seeing a Fastrunning blogger gal going out on her 10 mile run! Congrats on a great run and a great mileage week!

Michelle, eye of the eagle, focused today, you get to award your own commando points. It is a hard call, it seems you used some commando points for the great run, but, you also earned some.

Your day today, it what running is all about.

MICHELLE!!! You did it, you did it, you are...the...WINNER!! Good pace for such a long run. Is this your longest run this year? Congratulations! Man, I am extremely impressed for many reasons--you did it without fueling!? You did it fast. You did it on mountainous terrain (I think that everywhere you run is mountainous, right? Now you've got me quaking in my boots a little about trying to hang with you during the Painter's half. That's ok, a little awe-inspired fear is good for my weekly mileage.

Michelle, I have changed by mind, you get a positive 100 commando points plus the ones you award yourself. I was thinking about running from Monroe to Richfield, by yourself, colder than cold day, not the average 10 miler. Great job.
