keep running, stay fit and healthy, while having fun. Would like to get my mileage up to 25 miles a week and plan some short races when I get confident with my speed.

Today I lingered a little around the house, made the mistake of turning on the t.v. while I was making my bed after the kids left for school! It only sucked me in for about 10 mins. but I know that I can't do that any more, it made it really hard to get out the door. At one time I told myself that I could have the day off! My hip was hurting when I got up and that was part of the problem. I did put some heat on it when I got up and took ibuprofen about an hour before heading out. Once I got out the door things didn't feel all that easy but I did talk myself from four miles into six. And now sitting here the hip feels pretty good. ( the pain will be later!) pretty nice run, but I have felt like a turtle all week! Average time 9:55. I get so jealous when I read all the guys on the blogs comments, they seem to have all these gears and an accelerator to choose from, I tend to be stuck in second gear! On the bright side it's FINALLY FRIDAY!!!!! This marathon week at our house is almost in the bag... Yea!!!! Can't wait to hear all of the weekend race reports! Good luck to everyone!!!

Excellent job this week on mileage. Wish you were in SG to run with so you could drag me a little longer on my runs. I could have used your energy this week. Have a great weekend!

A sore hip and you talked yourself into a longer run?!?! You're my inspiration!!

No, Cami (my daughter) was born before I became a CNA. Actually, I only became a CNA for Cami. I really don't think I could take care of other people - I'm not cut out for medicine. My youngest brother is in medical school right now and, hearing his stories, I'm sure I'm not made for medicine. But being careful and fastidious about my own child is different. So, how old is your daughter with Spina Bifida? Is she the "busy 9 yr old?" How is she doing? Is she able to walk and talk? Cami walks with a strong limp and her left hand is the most affected. When she talks, she is not very understandable by other people - but she's our little angel. She has taught us so much. I completely know what you mean about taking our bodies for granted. After our next daughter was born, I was in constant awe at how quickly she learned and how everything just came naturally for her. Our bodies and brains are truly miraculous; and those whose are less than perfect have remarkable spirits!!

Right you are- my body did order a recovery week- thanks for reminding me to be sane! I loved the quote from Sasha that you pointed out about how runners don't feel good about 80% of the time. True, true! But it's all worth it right???!!!! Actually had a great run today, funny how it can fluxuate from day to day... By the way you should enter a steeplechase since you like running around & through obstacles so much- hee hee!
