Thought today would end up as a big goose egg, but I managed squish in a run! Really glad that I did, feel much better about my to do list and everything else after running. I got pretty cold today on my run the thighs were nunb for the last 2 miles. My face is the second coldest part of my body but I'm not sure if I can handle the ski mask but it might become necessary! Talked to Steve at the St.George running store about some cold weather gear and he was very helpful and I'm excitted about getting some warmer clothes that are light wt. when I load on my sweatshirt and other layers it feels like I weigh a extra ten pounds! I'd rather take advantage of the discounts and experience there than go it on my own so it should be good!

Great job! It is amazing how much better you can feel after a run, both physically and mentally.

I totally understand what you mean by feeling weighed down by your clothes, I feel like my hoodie weighs more than I do somedays. I did a ski mask once but it didn't go over so well as I have way too much hair(that's way thick) and it got way too hot, even with my hair up. I use to run in shorts and a sweatshirt in 30 degree temps when I was younger but now I can't bare the cold. It's nowhere near as cold here as in Utah, I could stand the cold there for only a few moments at a time.

Oh my goodness! It's like you're running with ankle weights! When you finally take off all that gear for running in the spring, you are going to fly! I read somewhere that for every pound you loose, you take 1% off your marathon time.

Good job squeezing in the run, Michelle!

You're funny mentioning your typos on my blog. I've been apalled (sp?- see I can't spell either) by my own posted comments many times when I realize the typos later. I never notice others, just mine. Anyway- you'll have to share the tips Steve gave you. Today I ran in drawstring velour pants just 'cause they are warm. NOT very practical! Great job once again getting a run into your busy life!!!

I hear you on the need for some good winter running clothes. Every time I bundle up to head out I look like the great abominable(sp) snowman. Personally, I think the ski mask sounds great!

Cold Cold Cold. I am more and more impressed by everone still getting their miles in despite the temperature outside! You are amazing! Hope the new clothing helps.
