Running Accomplishments:

Did a half a few years ago, unsure of my time but nothing to write home about. I trained about 6 months and then took about 2yrs. off. Started running again this year but have never done anything serious.

Short-Term Running Goals:

keep running, stay fit and healthy, while having fun. Would like to get my mileage up to 25 miles a week and plan some short races when I get confident with my speed.

Long-Term Running Goals:

Get my mileage back up and run pain free!

Ran in West/South Jordan today, made an unplanned trip to the city with my daughter and so I had to get it in up there.  Always intersting for me to run on the city streets... I always forget that the intersections really have cars going in various directions (thus the red and green lights!!) and the drivers are interesting to watch as I go by.  Maybe I have this horrible pained look on my face or who knows but they often laugh or make some other odd face or gesture...  I always enjoy new scenery, although I run there a few times a year, but I'll put up with the old quiet routine tomorrow quite happpily!

Good job on the runs this week! What's the new night time sleep / nap time total sleep time function? Did Sasha just code that in or have I missed it for a while? Hope you had a great holiday!

Michelle, West Jordan, not the best place to run, too much traffic, lived there for few years. Way to get a few miles in while on the road. By the way, your hubby and shoes. Kind of sneaky idea. Take him to the best running store in town and try on good shoes, find out if he is a nuetral, pronate, supenate runner. Then go on-line and compare prices from the running store. If not much difference I would buy from the store. If your hubby is a nuetral runner, there are some very good basic shoes, Nike Pegasus, Addias Super Nova Cushion, Muzuno Wave Rider. These shoes should all last 300 to 500 miles.

I'll think about the 1/2. I'm still leaning toward the 5k, just cause I'm no where near 1/2 shape, even for a training run. But I'm gonna give it a week to think about it. So are you surviving the kids (and hubby's) break from school?

Traffic always makes for an adventure. Some drivers are better than others. We have a really close call once or twice a year.

Hey Michelle- today I was thinking about you running Painter's 1/2 and I think you're totally ready! You are already really consistent with getting in 5-6 milers (about 30 miles or more a week- right?) I think you need to just throw is some long Saturday runs for the next 3 weeks and you'll be totally ready. (In my VERY humble opinion) I think you can do it and do it WELL!!
