Short-Term Running Goals:

keep running, stay fit and healthy, while having fun. Would like to get my mileage up to 25 miles a week and plan some short races when I get confident with my speed.

Get my mileage back up and run pain free!

I had so talked myself out of running today and decided to give myself a break this week, and then my husband came home and I had kinda mentioned to him that when I woke up and he got home I wanted to run with him. He ohh so gently drug me out the door....... and an hour and 40 mins later I had ran ten miles! in a nut shell the first 3 miles were hard and my oh so patient husband kindly hung with me. After that things felt better and I ended up adding two miles here and two there and before I knew it I was done! My husband stopped out short but it was a great run for him too. The only problem with these unplanned long runs, is that I think that I could do a little better with a little water or GU to take along. Another problem is that I don't think that I can even buy GU in this town. Thanks to the hubby and all you girls that inspire me to get these runs in!!!

Great job Michelle! You did it. You did it! I just can't believe you can run so far without fueling--you must have AMAZING glycogen stores!

This looks really good for any upcoming half marathons!

Hi Michelle, great job! You are really putting in the training, and it will pay off!

GU is much cheaper if you buy it online anyway!! You should try a few different flavors, and brands (I like cliff brand)until you find one that works for you. Our Smith's carries it, and if there is a cycling shop in your town they might have some too.

Way to go with a 10 mile run today. Very impressive to go out and run long in the cold weather! Keep up the good work.

Michelle, way to stay consistent, keep that hard earned conditioning. The 10 mile runs really make a difference.

What an awesome week of running! So are you going to run in the Painter's half with Lybi? With all your training, you'd have an excellent race!

Going from "talked yourself out of running" to 10 miles....WOW! Way to go Michelle!

Michelle- I'm feeling REALLY lazy after reading your & Lybi's blogs! You ROCK! Way to get in an awesome long run! I do think you'll be glad if you bring along some energy gel next time. You may find something similar to GU at the local grocery store. Harmon's here carries it in the natural food section, sometimes they can also be found in the pharmacy. You & Lybi are going to take Painter's by storm!!!!!
