Did a half a few years ago, unsure of my time but nothing to write home about. I trained about 6 months and then took about 2yrs. off. Started running again this year but have never done anything serious.

Short-Term Running Goals:

keep running, stay fit and healthy, while having fun. Would like to get my mileage up to 25 miles a week and plan some short races when I get confident with my speed.

Long-Term Running Goals:

Get my mileage back up and run pain free!

Got up and had my husband drop me off about half way on his way to work so I could run home and not have to do an out and back or wander around town. As we were driving it seemed so far away at the time that I gave in and had him only kick me out at the 6 mile mark and figured that I would add on 2 more for 8 in town if I had it in me. The first 6 miles were really good. I got me some new songs on my Ipod and just rolled along. Dropped off water on the way out so I didn't get thirsty. It was quite muggy and overcast but at least the sun wasn't beating down on me. I do feel like I am turning into one big mosquito bite though. I saw a few sprinklers to run through but didn't want to wash off any of my repelant (darn!) When I got to town things got a little difficult, I thinkk more mentally than anything. I ended up with only 7.7 but now that I am not as intimidated with the road he kicked me out on, next time I'll have him take me a little farther! Good run all in all.

On a little down note.... today is the last day of summer at our house.... I hate the thought of my kids going back to school on monday! So today we are totally taking it easy. Going to lunch and just soaking the last drops of freedom in. Later they have a big Highschool Musical 2 party planned with the neighborhood kids. Swimming, pizza and the movie. My goal today is to enjoy the day and not think about it coming to an end!

You're kicking booty on your runds this week! Too funny- we're having a HS Muscial party here tonight also. Then I have to wake up at 4 and run long- wish me luck!

don't ask me what "runds" are...
