Running Accomplishments:

Did a half a few years ago, unsure of my time but nothing to write home about. I trained about 6 months and then took about 2yrs. off. Started running again this year but have never done anything serious.

Short-Term Running Goals:

keep running, stay fit and healthy, while having fun. Would like to get my mileage up to 25 miles a week and plan some short races when I get confident with my speed.

Long-Term Running Goals:

Get my mileage back up and run pain free!

Again I think the theme for the last two runs has been hard. Today seemed even harder that the six miles that I did yesterday? I even seemed to do better Mon and Tues. running home from work after a 12 hour night shift, seems a little backward. I guess the bright spot is that I've gotten it in for today and look forward to tomorrow!! I'm sure it will be better. :) :)

Oh... I forgot to mention that Tues. morning while I was running home it was dark out and I came around the corner just as a car was coming down the road. We kinda came together at the same time. Well up the road about 20 feet is a canal bridge. The car was obviously going faster than me, so it got to the bridge before me. Just as it did, a skunk came skooting out across the bridge. I'm really glad for the car because I'm sure we would have met almost face to face. I thought it was funny because of the discussion on skunks just the other day!

I had a close call with a skunk the other day too! It was huge and I was glad I didn't turn that corner or I would have met it on the sidewalk!

Thank goodness for that car!!!! My brother and father got sprayed by a skunk this summer - not a fun experience!!!! You're so awesome being able to run home after a long shift. Working in the medical field, though, I'm sure it feels somewhat relieving. I'm a CNA for my 6 year old daughter with CP. When I worked in the hospital for part of my training, I was amazed how exhausting it was. I just wanted to get out and breath some fresh air!
