Did a half a few years ago, unsure of my time but nothing to write home about. I trained about 6 months and then took about 2yrs. off. Started running again this year but have never done anything serious.

Short-Term Running Goals:

keep running, stay fit and healthy, while having fun. Would like to get my mileage up to 25 miles a week and plan some short races when I get confident with my speed.

Long-Term Running Goals:

Get my mileage back up and run pain free!

5.87 miles and 2 bugs! Yuck! I got up to do 4 miles this morning and when I was headed home on mile 3 decided to do five and then five almost became 6. Because I didn't have any kind of a course mapped out I ran past my house twice trying to get that last 6th mile in, I slipped in the driveway a little short. But still a pretty good run. I know my first mile was like 8:58, then after that I did't get the specifics. A technical thing I'm not sure if my ipod will do, but my average pace was 10:10 and the total time was 59:43. I sucked in a bug about two minutes into my run and I think he just stuck to the back of my throat the entire time. About on the fouth mile I caught a second one, and that one just kinda slipped down-gross! Sometimes I feel like tigger that just hops down the road, and never really goes anywhere, but now I've taken to catching bugs too......I also have started getting a blister on the inside of my arch. I think I'll try differet socks, but I'm wondering if you get blisters when you start needing new shoes? I think I'm about due.

Good miles today! I'll pass on the bug thing. I always run in sun glasses just to keep them out of my eyes. Socks help a lot with blisters. No cotton. Some kind of clima-cool, lycra blend works the best. You have to find what works best for you on the thickness. I like them right in the middle. Not the thin ones and not the thick ones. I've found that I value good sock as much or more than shoes. I can keep sock for over a year but shoes only last a couple months.

Yes I'll be running a marathon on June 9th in Rexburg, ID. It's the Teton Dam Marathon. So we get to drive for like ever because there really wasn't any good flights around that area.

Good job today! You are fast! I don't think I've ever done a mile under 9 minutes (sad I know). You are totally on track enough to run the half with us in August.

Hey- I am trying to put together a picture calendar for Grandma Faye for her 90th bday and was wondering if you could get me some pictures of your family for it? If you could email them to me at miklhack@hotmail.com that would be great! Thanks.

That mile I'm sure was just a fluke, or possibly a technical error on my part. (I know you could never imagine that... or me sending messages to my self...never!) I'll have to see it happen again to believe it and if it had anything to do with the bugs, well I'm not sure if I'm willing again! As far as the pics go what would you like, individuals group ect. I'll get them to you....or Ted will, it's a technical thing......
