26.34 miles | 3:56:45 | 8:59 pace | Ogden Marathon Keys to success (yes, I'm calling this a success because I came in under 4 hours): - Good luck. With the weather and the house remodel, training hasn't been all that great.
- No potty breaks of significance and only one of the insignificant variety. I love it when that happens!
- Only two splits over 9:30! One of them was going up the hill at mile 14 (10:52)--I was trying to be conservative
given my poor training. The other was a fluke--9:45 at mile 20 in the middle of Ogden Canyon? What's up with that?
- The rest of the splits were fairly consistent. Except for a few in Ogden Canyon. Again--what's up with that?
- True grit. Actually, I don't know--I've just always wanted to say that.
All in all, it was a good day. Got to see lots of my good running buddies and I came away having gotten (or given) hugs from (or to) many.
