Short-Term Running Goals:
After 1/9/2010 - I am taking a year off from marathon length distances and focusing on building up my base speed on half marathons and shorter distances. 2010 Speed Goals: - Build up my base speed on training runs to 10 MM miles or better
- Half Marathon - break 2:05 (9.5 MM avg)
- 10K Goal 1 - break 1:00 (9.67 MM avg)
- 10K Goal 2 - break 55 minutes (8.87 MM avg)
- 5K Goal 1 - break 26.35 minutes
- 5K Goal 2 - break 25 minutes
Long-Term Running Goals: Long Term Goals: - Complete a 100 Mile race
- Complete a 100 K race
- Break 12 hours in a 50 mile race
- Run all portions of the Wasatch 100 course
- Break 5 hours in a marathon
- Break 4.5 hours in a marathon
- Qualify for and run Boston

| Not sure of the real distance since I just moved and don't know the roads and can't find my Garmin yet. I ran/walked at 8 minutes running, 2 minutes walking cycle for an hour. Headed up 8600 South and later on 7th East I got in some really good uphills. The knee is feeling better - unless I push too hard. |

I will actually be a 'day behind' a lot of days because I don't yet have any internet connection at my new townhouse. I walked to work this morning and will be walking home this afternoon and then either running or biking tonight. Walked 4.6 miles to and from work today and then did another 3 or more miles in the subdivisions around my new home to try and find some new routes. |

| I ran the Little Cottonwood Canyon Trail last night (Tuesday). I decided to conquer my hatred of running uphill, so ran 100 steps/walked 50 steps the entire uphill and made it to the top in 53 minutes. Visited with some bikers for a few minutes, then took a nice easy run downhill. Total round trip time 1:31:32. Then I walked a little, paved side trail for 1/3 mile as my cool down and to do my stretching. |

| I ran up 7th East from my townhouse to 106th South and back. On the way back, I stopped in at a Gold's Gym and signed up for a 3 year membership. It is only a 12 minute run away - so nice and close. Les - I'm running into a tough problem - all my running packs are getting too big. LOL. I'm going to have to cut off some of the belts and make them shorter so that I don't have all the excess webbing hanging off. |

| Ran with Stephen around Wheeler Farm again during lunch. He made it almost the entire way without walking. After 1 loop, we did a smaller loop. It was a lot cooler today. I think I have converted him to running (but only the sane version). |

| Did my long run this evening. 15 miles on the Jordan River Parkway Trail. Boy - the was hot. For the first 11+ miles I ran 8 minutes/walked 2 minutes. My left knee started bothering me then, so switched to run 5 minutes/walk 5 minutes for the remaining time. |
