Volunteered and then ran the Dirty Girls 4 mile race at Wheeler Farm this morning. Lots of fun in the mud. I ran where it was possible, but lot of times you were standing around waiting for a turn at an obstacle or walking through some deep water and mud where running could have potentially turned an ankle because of knee deep holes you couldn't see. I was in the very last wave and didn't start running until almost 10:45 - so the course was even more chopped up. The mud was fun. The course was fun. We had to climb over hay bales, run through tires, climb over walls, crawl under webbing, climb over webbing walls, hike through snow melt water and mud, climb over pipes, climb through pipes, rinse and repeat. I like these runs because they are not timed and fun. I'll do more of them. My only complaints would be that they needed to spread the mud obstacles out to avoid backups and why do people do these runs when they walk around the obstacles to avoid them. Oh - and lots of people entered as teams - and wanted to stick together as teams which blocked the paths and slowed down the obstacles.
