Went to a new podiatrist today because my ankle has been hurting so much that I could only walk with limping a lot of the time the last couple of weeks. I began suspecting in January that the previous doctor had misdiagnosed me, but kept trying to heal myself. I also suspected that whatever the problem was, it would end up with me being booted. This doctor looked at a bunch of xrays and did strength tests on my ankle. Then he started probing and when he pushed on a spot near the inside ankle bone I about jumped out of the seat. Tapping with a reflex hammer sent numb tingles up my leg and down to my toes. Diagnosis: tendonitis of the Posterior Tibialis Tendon. I am wearing a boot for a couple of weeks and then have an ankle brace to wear when not booted for the Buffalo Run on March 27th (I might end up walking the 25K), then back in the boot. Plus icing and vitamin I 3x per day. Felt so good to walk without pain! Walked the dog 1 mile this afternoon. Probably a bit too far and too fast because the foot started hurting. Tonight I went to the gym and did 50 minutes upper body & core workout and 70 minutes on the stationary bike. We started week 2 of the 100 pushup and 200 situp challenges this week. I've made it 7 days without sugar and most processed foods (no junk food at all).
