Short-Term Running Goals:

After 1/9/2010 - I am taking a year off from marathon length distances and focusing on building up my base speed on half marathons and shorter distances.

2010 Speed Goals:

Build up my base speed on training runs to 10 MM miles or better
Half Marathon - break 2:05 (9.5 MM avg)
10K Goal 1 - break 1:00 (9.67 MM avg)
10K Goal 2 - break 55 minutes (8.87 MM avg)
5K Goal 1 - break 26.35 minutes
5K Goal 2 - break 25 minutes

Long-Term Running Goals:

Complete a 100 Mile race
Complete a 100 K race
Break 12 hours in a 50 mile race

Taking a rest from running today to hope my body heals.

It is my daughter's 22nd birthday today. I sure miss her and wish I could be with her.

I have tickets a concert tonight - but am really bummed because Sugarland pulled out of it and they were the group I really wanted to see. I'll go anyway and enjoy Kenny Chesney, Lady Antebellum and Miranda Lambert. I am debating on walking to the concert. It is less than 3 miles away.

PM - 5 miles walking to and from the concert and then walking the dog. It was hot - west facing seats and full on sun the first 3 hours.

Smooth - I only live 2 miles from the stadium. Easier to walk than it is to park and deal with traffic. The concert actually starts at 5:30 - so I think it will be over before 10 - which gets me home by 10:30 walking.

Marion - I highly recommend investing in a book called Stretching by Bob Anderson. It is an excellent resource.

I find that squats (holding onto a pole), plie squats, butterfly and reclining butterfly help my hips, as well as just doing variations of lunges to the front and side where you twist your hips to try and get the area stretched that you need.
