Marion organized a run in Lehi today on the Jordan River Parkway Trail.  It was nice to meet a few somewhat familiar names and start putting faces and personalities with them.  Leslie, Marion and I (with Harold on a bike as our bodyguard) were the official run sweepers.

Miles:  12:06/12:46/12:10/13:58 (uphill fun)/14:28 (more uphill fun)/13:18/12:34/13:12/11:53/11:15 (Thanks to Scott talking with me and pushing me on).

Hopefully I don't miss names. We had JonA, John, Wendy, Marion, Leslie, Harold, Kelli, Scott, Teena, Britta, Smooth, and Tarzan.

It was good to meet you, next time I'm running with you guys. GOOD RUN!

From Kelli on Sat, Nov 01, 2008 at 12:41:50

Way to go on remembering the names!!! I did not even try, it is so not my thing!!

Here is a question for you-on the way back from the St George marathon did you happen to stop at an Arby's in a gas station on Sunday afternoon, maybe 12:30 or something??? Scott says he swears you were there when we were, and he has a good memory!

LMK when you guys decide to do a half, I will join you (unless you are getting up before the roosters).

From tarzan on Sat, Nov 01, 2008 at 12:55:54

Kelli - was Scott the guy I talked to in line who had to be warmed up to get his temp UP to 94 degrees?

From Kelli on Sat, Nov 01, 2008 at 13:03:54

No, we were sitting down eating when you came in, but we were just watching all of the people come in and trying to guess who had run ST George by the way everyone was walking. You were in line for quite a bit standing right by us (if it was you) so we just remember you. And, if it was you, you had on your marathon shirt so we knew you had run it!

Small world.

From tarzan on Sat, Nov 01, 2008 at 13:16:49

Yep - I had on my marathon shirt, medal and St. George hat. Too bad we didn't know each other back then.

From Kelli on Sat, Nov 01, 2008 at 13:21:49

Scott says the guy you were talking to in line was bald, but much older than him!

That is so funny that he never forgets a face. I vaguely remember it all, but i have net you since then and never would have put it together. In fact, I told him in the car, "That was not her!" But he says when he ran with you today and you took off your glasses and he saw your eyes, he knew it was you. He never forgets EYES. He is a cop, he remembers weird things! Steer clear of him now that you have had that muffin!!!

Have a great day!!

Thanks Maurine for posting the pictures for me. I told Harold to put them in SnapFish and then try and post, apparently it was Flickr or Photobucket. Eventually we will get it.Thanks

No problemo. Hope you liked my descriptions.

From britta on Sat, Nov 01, 2008 at 17:01:55

It was nice to meet you. I had so wished I could have stuck around for the chatting afterwards. I love the cute pics of the puppies. Are you selling any?

From tarzan on Sat, Nov 01, 2008 at 17:03:03

Yes, my sister will be selling most of them. Are you interested?

From Smooth on Sun, Nov 02, 2008 at 15:35:33

Maurine, you're so fun. Glad I got to meet you. I have a questions, why tarzan? And who's that boy in your avatar? Sorry, that was two questions. I need to run with you sometime so I can get to know you and ask MORE questions. Hope to see you again.

From tarzan on Sun, Nov 02, 2008 at 17:55:04

Smooth -

Tarzan is because I am a tomboy and want to be Tarzan when I grow up. I can't explain it - but I LOVE Tarzan.

The boy in the photo is my 18 year old son, Kevin. He was 17 at the time and had just finished St. George - his first marathon.

From Smooth on Sun, Nov 02, 2008 at 18:11:10

Aah,ah ah ah ah AAH! That s'posed to be a Tarzan call.

Kevin is one good looking dude like his mom, apparently got the running genes too.
