14.5 miles easy. Started by doing 10.5 miles easy from my home with Spencer and Mike. Then, ran a 5k with my son in AF. I paced him -- he PR'd at 21:10. Very fun. My other children ran, as did Mike's, Brandon's, and Dan's. Even Spencer showed up. Was great to see them all there!

10 miles from Scott's home with Mike, Spencer, Reed, and Scott. 4 mile warm-up, 2 mile warm-down. Did 4 mile tempo in 21:12 (5:18 average; splits were 5:18, 5:13, 5:20, 5:19). Felt great. Decided to stop the tempo at 4 miles so I didn't over-do it. Scott was an animal (he did a 5 mile tempo at 5:12 average). Mike looked great also (he did the first 3 miles with me). Spencer and Reed are both making great progress.

AM:  10 easy miles along the Jordan River Trail with Scott, Mike, and Spencer. There's an incredible amount of wildlife around the Jordan River this time of year. Definitely a lot of fun.

PM:  5.5 easy miles up and down Provo canyon. Upper body and hamstring weights.

10 easy miles up and down Provo canyon with Scott, Reed, and Brandon. Legs were totally wasted this morning. Probably because of my double yesterday, and my lack of sleep. I need to get more sleep. Scott ran a great 5k tempo during the run today (see his blog for details).

16 miles up and down Provo canyon, starting at the Orem soccer fields.  Quite a crew:  Brandon, Scott, Mike, Steve, Chris, Reed, and even Jody Benson! Warmed up 8 miles, and warmed down 3 miles.

After the warm-up, did 5 mile tempo in 26:02 (5:12 average; splits were 5:22, 5:19, 5:08, 5:09, 5:01). Weird run. For the past few days, my legs have been excessively tired and fatigued. Tough to say why, but I'm guessing it's mainly lack of sleep, but also because I doubled on Wednesday. Even during the first 8 miles today, my legs were more tired than usual. This fatigue continued for the first 2-3 miles of the tempo (I did not feel good). But then something weird happened. A switch went off, almost suddenly. I felt really good all of the sudden, and I felt better the faster I went. A good sign. Kind of fun, especially since it's been a rough few days for my legs. Scott and Mike looked awesome, as usual. Mike even put quite a gap on us for awhile. Reed and Brandon ran well also. Jody did really well for just starting to get in shape again.
