| AM: 5am track workout at Lone Peak High School with Mike, Scott, and Reed. My goal was just to wet the appetite and not over-do it, as this was my first track workout in quite awhile. 4 mile warm-up, then 3 x 800m at 2:28, 2:24, 2:25, then 2 x 400m at 68, 68. Nice and relaxed, but it did hurt (I'm not used to this pace). 1 lap jog in between intervals. Mike was on fire -- even had a 2:16 800m and a 59s 400m! Scott looked great for having just won the Ogden 1/2 marathon. Reed is progressing well -- if he sticks with this speed thing, he could become deadly.

Crazy last few weeks for me. Insanely busy. Haven't been able to do the blog thing for a few weeks. Excited to do it again.
AM: 20 miles from Reed's home (up and down AF canyon) with Walter, Mike, Spencer, Reed, and Chris. 10 miles of it were in AF canyon (5 up, 5 down). Easy 10 miles uphill, then Mike, Walter, and I did a 7-mile tempo. I did a 5:24 average (5:39, 5:13, 5:28, 5:24, 5:19, 5:20, 5:29; the first 5 miles were quite aided). An intentional slower, easing-into-it first mile. Ended with a 3 mile warm-down. Felt strong. My legs are sore (not used to the downhill). I've got a long way to go, but I finally feel like I'm starting to get in shape. PM: Upper body and hamstring weights.
