AM:  Ever get sick of monotony? Boy I sure do -- especially this week with all the treadmill. So I decided to mix it up a bit this morning. I did treadmill at the local rec center. Warmed up 7 miles, then did 3.1 miles at 15:30 (just kept it at 12 mph the whole time). Felt strong. Could have kept going but I was glad it was done. It was at 0 incline and on the treadmill, so I'm not saying it would compare to a road 5k time, but I'm certainly pleased with the effort. Hip flexor felt fine during the speed; we'll see how it responds afterword.

"Gee I'm bored, I think I'll just throw down a 15:30 5k."

*15:30 later:

"Well, that was easy..."

Haha jk. Nice work Matt! Still on for Tuesday?

Great job on the speedwork, might as well make the monotony worthwhile!

Wowzers that is one impressive workout especially at the end of a run. So exciting to see how well you are running right now. Big things to come for you in 2013 Matt.

Strong work Matt. Diddo to Brandon's sentiment. You're getting in great shape!

Wow, 5K at that pace on the treadmill is awesome! You did it in 2170's too which aren't exactly light or zippy shoes. Nice work.

Great job Matt! First person to do the 50 minute, 10 mile workout on the TM gets a box of Dunford Donuts.

Thanks guys (and gal). I was definitely happy about the workout. I just kept feeling good so I kept going. I still can't shake this sickness though. Sick and tired of lung issues. Hopefully they resolve soon. Rachelle, the only reason I did the speed near the end of the run is because I am lazy and didn't want to be left with a long warm-down :) Good point on the shoes Justin. I hadn't even thought about what shoes I was wearing -- probably should wear flats next time. Deal is on Fritz! It will take me awhile to get up to that though. (You could probably do that tomorrow :) Boy, once we get up to that workout (and by we I mean several of us on the blog), I'd say it's OTQ time! A box of Dunford Donuts sounds great -- I need them -- my love handles are melting away (I still have them though). I think I'm due for another body fat analysis by Sasha :)
