Personal:

I am 26 years old. I am the Production Coordinator for all visual communications for Kiawah Island Real Estate. I've been a runner since high school, and I have a competitive nature that should explain my high mileage. I challenge myself to accomplish what I never imagined I could do, and I try to encourage myself and others to push their limits. I'm usually late to parties and social gatherings, since I have to get the run in first...(but luckily, I have great friends who acknowledge my routine). I suffered a bad case of plantar fasciitis March of 2010, and I picked up cycling/spinning while I recovered. Surprisingly, I totally loved it. I only ran on a whim or on weekends, or on vacation days when my gym was closed. This fall, I finally got back into the swing of things and started racing again. I'll try to update my races and runs more frequently. I'd like to be where I was 2 years ago....12 miles a day...I mean...what?!?! =)

I usually do "long run Sunday" when I run the longest of any day in the week. Since Saturday was 15 (and that was pretty long) I stuck to 14. It was breezy, still really hot, but not humid. So it was a great evening run.

I had to kill time while my parents hosted dinner guests (i didn't want to walk into the house sweaty and nasty while they were eating). So i added 2 miles to the usual 12. Not typical, but it was a gorgeous afternoon with a very unusual high tide. It was a "spring tide" that was so high it covered the streets. It was cool.

Sidenote: I live with my parents while I'm waiting to close on my new house. Totally temporary.

Normal run. Nothing out of the ordinary.

13 miles after work. It was a very nice evening, but the first hour was HOT. I made the mistake of wearing a cotton t-shirt instead of my Nike Dri-fit. But once the breeze picked up, it was awesome (that's how I managed the distance, couldn't help myself, so I kept going!)

Covered 10 miles before work this morning because I have a happy hour date tonight (yay!). It's been a while since I've run that early, but last time I did that it was still cold and dark in the mornings. I left the house at 6. It took about an hour and half, not bad, but it was really gross and humid out. I only take on the sunrise when I have to. As beautiful as a sunrise might be, sleep usually takes precedence.
