Short-Term Running Goals: Just keep running!
Long-Term Running Goals: Marathons...and maybe an Ultra Run if I really need a challenge. Personal: I am 26 years old. I am the Production Coordinator for all visual communications for Kiawah Island Real Estate. I've been a runner since high school, and I have a competitive nature that should explain my high mileage. I challenge myself to accomplish what I never imagined I could do, and I try to encourage myself and others to push their limits. I'm usually late to parties and social gatherings, since I have to get the run in first...(but luckily, I have great friends who acknowledge my routine). I suffered a bad case of plantar fasciitis March of 2010, and I picked up cycling/spinning while I recovered. Surprisingly, I totally loved it. I only ran on a whim or on weekends, or on vacation days when my gym was closed. This fall, I finally got back into the swing of things and started racing again. I'll try to update my races and runs more frequently. I'd like to be where I was 2 years ago....12 miles a day...I mean...what?!?! =)

| | The bottom of my feet are killing me! I think it's residual pain from the 26 miler last Sunday. I don't usually have any pain, and pain doesn't bother me too much. I've had pain under my heels before, and I've always just run through it, and it eases up with time. Any advice from anyone out there? I know the plantar fascia muscle, or whatever it's called, can get stretched out and that leads to heel pain. My arch doesn't hurt at all, just my heels. My shoes are pretty new, a few weeks old maybe. | | Comments(4) |
| | The pain in my feet eased up today, but I had a little mishap with a guard rail on the roof of the gym (there's a track up there). I inadvertently ran my fist into the front of the railing when I came around the curve. Terribly painful. It was like punching a steel wall. This is why I ran 12 instead of the usual 13. The last half a mile was a disaster, and I knew an additional mile just wasn't happening. We'll see how tonight goes! | | Comments(9) |
| | Had to do some serious raking in my front yard and driveway. I had to sacrifice some Saturday mileage, but the yard looks good! | | Comments(3) |
