Personal:

I am 26 years old. I am the Production Coordinator for all visual communications for Kiawah Island Real Estate. I've been a runner since high school, and I have a competitive nature that should explain my high mileage. I challenge myself to accomplish what I never imagined I could do, and I try to encourage myself and others to push their limits. I'm usually late to parties and social gatherings, since I have to get the run in first...(but luckily, I have great friends who acknowledge my routine). I suffered a bad case of plantar fasciitis March of 2010, and I picked up cycling/spinning while I recovered. Surprisingly, I totally loved it. I only ran on a whim or on weekends, or on vacation days when my gym was closed. This fall, I finally got back into the swing of things and started racing again. I'll try to update my races and runs more frequently. I'd like to be where I was 2 years ago....12 miles a day...I mean...what?!?! =)

No running today because of the hip. Instead, I stationary biked for 2 hours. Not sure of the distance because the screen wasn't lit. It was nasty and raining out anyway, so it was a decent workout.

Solid mileage recently. Taking a day off is probably a good thing.

What are you hammering out the training so well to run?

Nice miles! I'm surprised that your 5k/10k times are so slow with all those miles. I think you can go well under 1:30 in the half if you are knocking out 100 mile weeks. At least 1:20 is in your future if not faster!

Well, I'm not really training for anything in particular other than a half marathon a few 5Ks coming up. I like to always be race-ready since you never know when something might come up. I don't have too many commitments other than work (i.e. no kids or husband), so I usually have plenty of time right after work to run.

I'm hoping my Thanksgiving Day 5K will be really good. I do tend to have slower times for the shorter races. I think distance is my specialty.
