Many years ago, I read that the AVERAGE male is capable of a 2:40 marathon. I decided to test that theory. I began running in 2003 with Top of Utah as my first marathon (4:24). I need 3 more minutes.

| | Surprised to find no snow on the East High track, so plans changed from 5x200 to a 1 mile time trial (5:09).

| | Olympic Oval run due to the snow storm. 3x800 @ 2:40 pace which at the Oval turns into 3x884 @ 2:57. Surprised to find the track not very busy.

| | I went to the Olympic Oval to run some 200's inside as a primer for the 5K race on Saturday. Goal was 36 seconds average for 6. Stayed below pace for 5, but decided to "try" for the last one and ran a 30. I'll take that in the winter!

Salt Lake Track Club Winter 5K (3.11 Miles) 00:17:33, Place overall: 11, Place in age division: 1 | | Track Club's 5K at Saltair. Typically, I'm around 18 minutes for this Winter race. I was a little faster today mainly due to better weather and no running break at Christmas time. I was 4th master, but ran the race thinking I was 3rd. So many old fast guys! I'll have to try harder at the 10K in a couple of weeks. Course PR for me today.
