Personal:

Married to Elizabeth (she got me running in 2003). We have three boys, Lucas (12) , Sam (8) and Ollie (5).

Many years ago, I read that the AVERAGE male is capable of a 2:40 marathon.  I decided to test that theory.  I began running in 2003 with Top of Utah as my first marathon (4:24).  I need 3 more minutes.

Decent race today at the Murray 5K.  I was not feeling great when I woke up, so I did not expect to much (flew home from Oakland late Friday night).  The Murray race always has fast people, but I was surprised that 18:10 took 2nd in my age group.

Mile 1: 5:37--Way to fast for the uphill climb.  I would pay for this in the later miles.

Mile 2: 5:53--Closer to pace, but struggling to stay with the pack.  A guy named George passed me here.  He always passes me in 5K races in Salt Lake.  I need to stay ahead of him if I want to run in the 17's.

Mile 3: 6:04--I was done, but could see the first place female closing in on me.  I also passed a couple of peope which was a surprise.

Mile 3.1 0:34 (5:17)--Did not get chicked!  I should have had more kick to place two spots higher, but not bad with all things considered.

Ran with Lucas and Elizabeth in the kids 1/2 mile run after the 5K.  We also won a hotel voucher for Fairfield Inns...something you would never find at a sponsored fast running blogging event...lol!  Jeremy ran with his son and Marie had a 1 minute PR.  It was a nice July 4th morning.
