...deep breathing...relax.....
Starting today, I am going to do 20 minutes of mental rehearsing for the marathon. I need to calm my anxiety. I am going to plan for my marathon today and practice tomorrow on my 20 miler. So far the plan is to gu every 45 minutes with water. I am going to try this tomorrow. I really like the gu and tolerate it well. I especially like the gu with caffeine ;) So tomorrow, tomorrow, tomorrow....
I would love to go for a walk, but the legs need some rest and it is pouring :) I LOVE the rain...when I don't have to go out in it ;D | Comments(5) |

First of all, THANK YOU, Maurine, Luz and Anna Lisa! You guys are the BEST ever and I love you FOREVER!!!! Again, Luz's sweet hubby drive us to Will's Pitstop at 6:50 to start our 20 miler. We ran from there up to Vivian and then back down to Geneva Road where we met and parked the cars. Maurine and I did not get all the way up to Vivian as this would have put is too far over our 20 mile goal. the weather was PERFECT and the company was BETTER!!! I hydrated every 2 miles, starting at mile 4 and gu'd every four miles. The marathon has water stations every 2 miles starting at mile 4 ;) I only drank water on this run. I am trying to see if I am gettng too much salt and if that will help with the MAJOR water retenion I have been experiencing. I do have a little twinge in my left calf now and I am thinking that I need a bit of salt during the run. So for the race I will gatorade at the aid stations that I am not gu'ing at. After our run we sat in the river. That was AWESOME. I screamed at bit going in. I bet some trail goers were wondering what was going on in the bushes ;) After our river dip, we walked over to Luz's where her dear hubby fed us fruit and water as we stretched in the sun in her BEAUTIFUL back yard. Thanks Maurine for the WONDERFUL bread!!! I had a nice fat slice when I got home :)
I am off to get my day going :) Have a GREAT rest of the day!!! xoxoxoxoxoxoxoxo

RHR- 54 Rest day. :D My experiment was a success. I only gained 1.4 pounds from yesterday :) On the 18 miler I went up 12. Apparently I don't need as much salt as I have been taking in. (I went up 4.2 after Ogden). Yesterday, I drank only water and took gu or shock blocks on the run. I did have a bit of a calf twitch yesterday and added some salt to my water ;) I feel pretty darn good today. I'd love to go for a bike ride, but I really think I need to give the bod a rest, so I will. Tomorrow I will ride my bike and then Thursday take a jog. Oh, yesterday, I had a tummy ache all afternoon. It finally settled down in the evening. Last night I did 3 sets of 25 arm exercises that Maurine showed me and 20 push ups. ***64 minutes of FABULOUS biking and BEAUTIFUL weather! I rode further today again. I must be getting used to it. A flying somebody bounced off of my iPod earbud thing. Dang it! No sting today, just a thump and buzzz. I am STARVING today. :)

55:25/13:11 RHR- 53 It is the PERFECT day for running. Everything seemed to be working just fine. I was a bit tired. Mile three was spent walking as I had a STRONG desire to find a potty ASAP! Fortunately, the police station showed up and they let me use theirs. I said that they should let me use it as to save themselves from having to arrest me for exposure ;) Hey- my daughter, Ashley's (14) team won the triathlon at the Jr High yesterday. She is such a speedy swimmer. She makes it look so effortless. Her only competition was a year round swimmer who got the same time. Just think what Ash could do if she had crazy parents who would drive her to Provo everyday to swim. She hasn't been in the pool since last summer. Oh well ;) Here are my marathon plans-
#1 Anything less than 6 hours. Yipee and Yee Haw!!!!
#2 5:19:00 (12:10mm) What I think it will be. (really between 5:30-5:20)
#3 5:0_:00- Not likely, but maybe and REALLY cool ;)
#4 Marathon best case scenario MIRACLE ....4:50:23 (11:05mm) Are you coming to cheer me in? You know you want to :) Baby for sale! Will just filled my central vac hose (50 ft) with water. FILLED!!! I picked it up and it was SO heavy! Could not figure out where the water was coming from. He told me earlier that he had cleaned up the water. I ignored him. He may be a bit of a bugger ;) Good thing he is DARN cute!!!

| | RHR-49 Slow day with a SUPER slow pace :) I was tired today. Tomorrow I will ride my bike and give the feet a break. I have 12 miles planned for Saturday. I should feel fine with a day of biking :) Happy day everyone :) oh- I dedcided that I am going to do a triathlon this fall. I think it will be a great way to give the running legs a break and keep my fitness up :) Plus our local pool is only open during the summer ;) Does anyone know of one in September?

RHR-50 Nice bike ride this morning. We are off to 6th grade graduation, lunch with our graduate, then the temple this afternoon and THEN to a dance/party for the 6th graders. Busy day :) I think I am settled on the "I Can Tri" in Sandy in September. It is a sprint and I am going to work on getting my whole family to do it with me :) Wish me luck!!! Last night I did 3 sets of 25 arm things, bicept curls and 20 push ups and some yoga.
