COLD!!!!

Can you say cold!  Burr!!!  It was an icy 24 degrees this morning!  I felt a little sick for the first mile but then was OK.  The first mile and a quarter the roads were totally clear.  The rest was layered in thin icy snow.  It was ok to run on.  No spills!

Have a WONDERFUL day!  I wonder if I will ever go back to loving the snow?

See how nicely we take turns Marion? You kicked my butt. Tomorrow is my day!!! You are a brave solider, I was afraid of the ice, it was bad up here. You go girl!!!! You had the same pace and you were dealing with ice, you did AWESOME!!

Tomorrow is TEMPO day! Are you going to do a tempo run? I am shooting for between 10:30 and 9:30.

Where is today's run? I went to look and NO LESLIE RUN!!!

From leslie on Tue, Dec 09, 2008 at 11:34:24

My post is up now. Okay, I will try a tempo run, but I doubt very much I can go that fast, but I will try. I hope it isn't too icy. Okay, we have a little friendly competition here! I will be lucky to get it in the low 11's. Now I am off to go visiting teaching, toodles!

What's better than getting a nice run in despite the cold??! NEGATIVE SPLITS! WOOT! ROCK ON CHICA! :-D!

From montelepsy on Tue, Dec 09, 2008 at 13:44:45

It's getting cold here too. One of the engineers at work was wearing a scarf and I asked if she had a hickey. She was not amused. I was.

FUNNY mike! I remember the turtle necks in high school! I had forgotten all about that! Thanks for the reminder... teenage daughters and all!

Thanks Benn!! How are you feeling?

From Lucia on Tue, Dec 09, 2008 at 14:19:01

Way to be brave on the cold! It's 27 degrees over here in the morning... I look like a ninja all covered in black when I bike to work and back! I love it though, let it snow let it snow let it snow!

From Smooth on Tue, Dec 09, 2008 at 14:24:30

Marion, GOOD JOB braving the cold and crunchy snow. YES, you're back to loving the snow. You are doing awesome. Tomorrow will be a perfect day for Tempo run. The snow is already melting. I think the sun is going to evaporate whatever moisture left so the road should be good tomorrow. With the colder temp, you might want to take a little longer time to warm up. So instead of a mile, run 1.5 to 2 miles to adequately warm up all the muscles before hitting your tempo pace. Good luck.

From Burt on Tue, Dec 09, 2008 at 15:06:37

It must be twice as cold here because it was 48 when I ran this morning. Oh, but don't read my entry. It's juvenile.

From Lucia on Tue, Dec 09, 2008 at 15:13:19

Right, Burt, cause all your other entries aren't juvenile at all... :)

True that, it's just that there are very refined people in this discussion that might think down on me. :)

There's no snow in the Amazon...

ice is scary- be careful! When I was little we lived in Michigan and my mom took me jogging with her in the mornings before school. I loved the sound and feel of crunching snow under my feet. Sometimes I think I miss it. Then I walk the dogs at 6 am here and it's like 40* and I am positive I will just die if it gets any colder.

From Kelli on Tue, Dec 09, 2008 at 18:57:41

GREAT JOB!!!!!! It was cold, but it made for no sweat. I think I do not even have to wash my running clothes from today (but I will!)

OH---and I went to Brittne's meeting last night. It was good, she is cute. AND she is TINY!!! Seriously, she never could have been big, ever! I need proof.

Ask her to tell you her breaking point story. She has her before pic's too. She rocks!

Thanks for the tip Smooth!

Her class was absolutely packed, SRO! It was crazy for a Monday night in December, but I guess the word spread about the NEW program, so people came. She kept saying to call her or e-mail her if we had any questions or needed to talk to her, but I do not know her e-mail address. Maybe I can get it next week and then get the story! In my 2 years of attending WW, I have never seen a leader or any employee that skinny! SO, I bet it is a good story.
