Will update my activity later, I just had to post about my doc visit before I forgot it all :) Everything is going well. The upper back/neck/shoulders is just being a baby. Brady gave me some exercises to strengthen the upper back and help to mobilize the thorasic spine. It's kind of seized up and refusing to play nice with the rest of my back :p The good news is that the upper back will not keep me from running :) We should be able to make some good progress with some work. Part 2- the SI joint and piriformis/sciatic nerve. This is also going to take a bit longer to heal. It very likely might turn into a chronic problem that I will have to learn to manage. The good news is that in the past month, through yoga and other stretches I have been able to manage and relieve the pain, both are good signs. It also might just go away too :D I am so surprised that the spine can have such a hard time healing and be so complicated. I mean really, I am SO lucky to not be hurt worse, but still I am surprised. Today, I've already run a mile with a 1/4 mile warm up. I need to go finish up to 40 min total on the treadmill. I am reducing the stationary bike to no more that 30 min each day on days that I don't run. I'm pretty sure that it is giving my SI joints problems; Brady concurs. Brady does not want me to increase my runs to 3 days a week until March. More slow and steady winning the race thing :) When I do start the 3 times a week, he wants that new day on the treadmill. So at least one day a week on the treadmill :p this has been SO hard losing all of my fitness. this is so hard starting way back here at the end of the line again. I wonder why my right shift key is not working???? Have a great day! Oh and I do have about 30 minutes of yoga planned along with the stretches and strengthening that Brady prescribed :) ..and the treadmill and stationary bike :)
