I woke up late, I am not sure what my problem was, but I barely made it our the door in time to be back for the kids to get out the door for school.  Yes, my kids get themselves ready for school.  I am raising very independent and responsible children.   Bahahahahahah!!!  :D  I am actually raising children that look a little bedraggled and unmatched at school.  Sorry about that one, I needed a laugh this morning.

I was pretty pooped the first half of my run, but considering that I was not awake, it wasn't too bad.  The second half was fine/great.  I practiced leaning forward and relaxing on the down hill.  I was really surprised at the difference it made.

Have a GREAT day!  Remember that on Saturday, 7am, at Thanksgiving Point we are going to meet for a "Day After Halloween" 10 mile SUPER SLOW Run!  We'll ll be hung over anyway from all of the chocolate and donuts!! ;D

Who's we? Can I come?

From leslie on Tue, Oct 28, 2008 at 11:12:34

Yeah for the 5 miles! Did you figure out a route? Where exactly do we meet?

From barry on Tue, Oct 28, 2008 at 11:37:40

Thanks for mentioning the leaning forward and relaxing on the down hills. I think that will help me a lot in my race this Friday. The course has a lot of hills with a lot of down hills. Thanks again and have a great day!!

From marion on Tue, Oct 28, 2008 at 11:39:52

YES Britta, you may come, YOU MUST COME :D

I do not have a route, but we can just run around :) I was thinking by the huge water tower. We can just run out some where and then back? I'll call my brother.

Britta, do you know of any running routes by Thanksgiving Point-ish?

From Metcalf Running on Tue, Oct 28, 2008 at 12:21:45

:( Wish I lived closer to you, I miss having someone to run with on Saturdays.

Lori

From marion on Tue, Oct 28, 2008 at 12:53:55

How far is Thanksgiving Point to you, Lori? We could all dress up in our WORST/funniest running outfits to make it wouth your while :)

From britta on Tue, Oct 28, 2008 at 13:17:02

I don't know any running routes near there. Wish I did. I am planning on coming but,my husband is helping a friend move so I will have to figure that out so I can come.

From marion on Tue, Oct 28, 2008 at 13:21:06

Great Britta! Are you close to Kelli or Leslie or Maurine?

From Kelli on Tue, Oct 28, 2008 at 13:49:26

She is close to me, I am her official cookie stalker.

Okay, NO BAPTISM (this is actually sad, but what can I do?) so we are there!!! Well, I am there at least. Maybe we should have donuts afterwards?!? Oh wait, that is against the rules! Muffins? Juice? I will make a Costco run on Friday and bring something to eat if we want it.

Good job on getting up, it gets harder and harder. But Daylight Savings is almost here, so it will be easier for a like a week, and then we will be back to moaning about it! Nice miles!

From marion on Tue, Oct 28, 2008 at 14:26:37

We are going to have a GREAT time! Crazy running outfits are a MUST!

Barry- glad the info helped- hopefully it will help with the big race on Saturday!

From Metcalf Running on Tue, Oct 28, 2008 at 16:47:03

I mapquested it and it looks to be almost 70 miles for me. Something to think about :)

From marion on Tue, Oct 28, 2008 at 17:15:08

That is a bit far, but if you're up to it, it would be SO GREAT to meet you! :D

From Kelli on Tue, Oct 28, 2008 at 17:47:18

So, who is coming so far???

From Kelli on Tue, Oct 28, 2008 at 17:54:41

Here is an option:

http://www.mapmyrun.com/run/united-states/ut/lehi/118830839

If someone is familiar with the area, we can pick 5 miles out and back!

From Smooth on Tue, Oct 28, 2008 at 17:56:11

Thanksgiving Point is 3 miles from my house. I've never run around there. I have seen people running along the Frontage Rd. You get a little bite of uphill going north over the point of the mountain.

I know people who actually pay to enter the Thanksgiving Point Garden and run in it.

Another option is the Jordan River Parkway. It runs on the westside bordering the Thanksgiving Point golf course. Lotsa runners run there on Sat.

Sounds like FUN for a post-Halloween run/party.

From marion on Tue, Oct 28, 2008 at 18:01:25

Smooth- can you come? Do you know how to get on the parkway close to Thanksgiving point- ish? :)

Kelli- It's us, SMOOTH?, Leslie, Maurine, Britta, Jon and maybe KimR. Be sure to post it on your blogs too and invite anyone you post a comment on too.

From Smooth on Tue, Oct 28, 2008 at 18:01:32

Kelli -

Just saw your map link. Yes, you can access the JRP from 1500 N or Main St. Lehi.

From Smooth on Tue, Oct 28, 2008 at 18:05:59

Sure, I've only run there once. This is where I'd get on the JRP. Take Lehi exit 282 which takes you to State St (SR 89). On State St. go south to 1500 N (Chevron Gas Station). Drive west on 1500 N. till it dead ends to the River Parkway. Let me check with my friends to make sure this the right direction.

From marion on Tue, Oct 28, 2008 at 18:06:01

Ok Smooth- so where is the best place to meet if we are going on the parkway?

From marion on Tue, Oct 28, 2008 at 18:06:53

Thanks AWESOME directions!!!

From Smooth on Tue, Oct 28, 2008 at 18:18:17

At the Parkway access area, you can pull your car off to the left. There's a small parking area and we can meet there.

From Smooth on Tue, Oct 28, 2008 at 18:23:04

If you're going north on I-15, exit 282 is also the 1200 West exit. It's the one after Main St. and before the Thanksgiving Point exit.

It might still be dark at 7am. Here's my cell if you're lost. 801-367-4631. I'm getting Wendy and may be others to join us.

From Kelli on Tue, Oct 28, 2008 at 18:48:49

As soon as we have the beautified (directions and starting point), I will post it. Actually, I will post it tomorrow. I will mention it to my running group on Thursday also!

I still think breakfast would be fun, but I guess it will still be too cold to stand around and talk. We can all climb in the back of my suburban and eat muffins!

From Camille on Tue, Oct 28, 2008 at 19:08:58

Now I wish I lived in Utah. (I don't say that very often). Your day after Halloween 10 miler sounds like fun!

Good goob on your 5.01 miles this morning. You rock!

From tarzan on Tue, Oct 28, 2008 at 19:26:31

It has got to be warmer in Utah than running in Michigan. Heck, we freeze every time we leave the hotel.
