Ok, I did it- THIRTEEN miles!  I am officially ready for Painters.  If nothing else happens at Painters, I will have at least run it and not died :)   The miles all felt just fine except the last one.  My legs were tired and getting a bit achy.  As a matter of fact, I will not type for very long so I can keep moving and not atrophy in a seated position. ;)

I had a few surprises on today's run.  The first is when I was bent over stretching and Michelle and MacKenzie ran past me.  I was so excited to meet MacKenzie and see Michelle. We ran for a block or two and then the speedsters headed off into the distance.  This was in my first mile, so it really perked things up for me.  The next surprise happened at the mile 2 marker.  I was heading off into this dark field.  I heard a strange noise and totally freaked out and turned and ran home!

I did 3 of my regular loops to make the 13 with two potty breaks at home.  Potty breaks at home are so much nicer than bushes!

BTW- I was on the middle of page two of the mileage board when I posted this this morning.  Cool eh?

Running 13 miles on your own is huge! You go! You never no what the "mystery miles" will do to your body! You did it and you will be fabulous at Painters!

Have a great day and reward yourself today!!!!

Marion - congratulations on your first 'teenage' run! That is awesome. You are going to have a blast at Painter's!

From seeaprilrun on Fri, Jan 02, 2009 at 13:40:52

Alright Marion 13 miles! When is Painter's? You are so ready! I think you need a treat after that run! I am bad I guess but I always commit a little food sin after my long runs!(something chocolate usually)

From Marion on Fri, Jan 02, 2009 at 15:58:41

thanks girls! My legs are "there" and I don't like sitting too much. Well the sitting is nice, but getting moving is a bit tougher than usual. It feels GREAT!!

From Marion on Fri, Jan 02, 2009 at 15:59:24

WOOHOO!!! MARION, YOU DID IT!!! I was thinking about you on my solo run today: "Wonder how Marion is doing on her 13 miler? She's training so hard and so dedicated!" You inspired me!!! You're SO READY for Painter's. Can hardly wait to see you in two weeks.:)

AWESOME RUN!!! You are really just doing AMAZING!!!!! Need I say more?

From Becca on Fri, Jan 02, 2009 at 20:15:52

Way to go Marion! But I'm really wondering what that strange noise was!!

Oh, and I think you deserve extra credit because to me, it would be more difficult to do 13 over 3 loops than doing an out and back or a big loop! Hooray for you!!

From Marion on Fri, Jan 02, 2009 at 20:34:08

I think there was a murderer in the field and he was going to kill me ;)

The method has actually turned out to be WAY easier. I don't have to haul fuel, or find potties and all the little routes seem like no big deal to me, so mentally, it's a snap. I stumbled on this trick by accident a month or so ago and it has been GREAT! :D

From Kim Robison on Fri, Jan 02, 2009 at 22:15:48

Your awesome! Thirteen is a long, long way!!!!! Painter's here you come! Your gonna rock!

Sorry I've pretty much abadoned you on your runs! I do feel a little better today, so maybe we can run together next week.
