| It's time to get back on the horse. After a weekend of rain (it's been about 5 months since we've had any good rain around here), catching up on work around the house, and watching soccer -- I decided to give the old legs a try. I ran 1 mile for every pound I've gained since SGM! I didn't look at my watch until I hit the 2 mile turnaround when I was at a 7:15 pace. It really didn't seem that fast. I know I was breathing hard, but I thought that was mainly due to my loss of fitness. I ran the last 2 miles back to the barn faster. It felt good to stretch the legs! AP: 6:59 68F, partly cloudy, N7

| Well, maybe getting back on the horse might be delayed a little. My right calf was feeling a little tight after Monday's all too fast 4 miler..and when I went for an easy run today, almost from the start I could feel it starting to hurt. After my first mile, I walked back in. From my own self-diagnosis, I think I have a mild calf strain. Nothing that 2 weeks off of running shouldn't cure. I'm pretty sure this is what I went through before SGM 2009. Going to take it easy for a couple weeks, then ease back into it. |
