1 mile:  6:31

5K:  23:37

Half Marathon: 2:04

My first post-high school 5K, in which I thought I was going to die

The first time I won my age division.  Yippee!

My first half marathon, in which I attack Sasha

The time I beat my high school PR for the 5K (as a 31 year-old mommy of 3!)

My first 5K barefooted

Short-Term Running Goals:

I'm just getting back into running after a long break to have my last child.  I would like to race some 10Ks, a half, and a marathon in the next 2 years.

Long-Term Running Goals:

Be the oldest woman to complete a marathon.  Yea!  But hopefully I will also complete some BEFORE I geezer up, like, before I'm 40 for sure.  I think it would be fun to dress up really strange for marathons, like impersonating celebrities and stuff.  Except I don't really like celebrities, as a rule, so maybe I'll have to stick to the age old question of ninja, or pirate.  I say ninja. *Hyah!*

Personal:

I am happily married to James W (Cool Runnings). We have 3 boys and 1 opinionated little girl.  I love reading and I'm also a news junkie.  I am a stinker.

I had to sleep in REALLY late to get my 8 hours of sleep.  I was up very late last night because I was all excited from that midnight race with Laura.

So anyway, I was a major bum today and completely skipped my run.  No excuse at all. I think that sleeping late leads to less ambition all day long...or maybe it's just a coincidence.

Well, as I see it technically you DID run today- just VERY early right? hee hee. You're right- sleeping definately leads to less ambition. I should know, I've been testing this theory ALOT this Christmas break. Tomorrow back to real life. And time to get ready for that 1/2 right? You're gonna do AWESOME!!!!

Congrats on your long run the other day...I was so excited when I heard about it....I knew you could do it. Are you feeling more confident for Painters?

Sleepy head! your blog is so funny! Night sleep, Nap time, Total sleep time! Does more sleep time = better running time? Jan 1st is for sleeping in!

Wildbullhead--Hey! This blog isn't funny! It's mournful, contrite even. Yesterday's was funny. I don't necessarily think that sleeping more makes you run faster, but sleeping more = less prone to getting sick or injured (I hope), which leads to being able to handle increased weekly mileage.

Sarah--yes, I have gone from feeling panicked to merely feeling moderately apprehensive about Painters. So that's a big improvement, I guess.

Christi--good luck with "real life". Hope it's not a real drag. And thanks for the vote of confidence!

Ok- I ran 5.47 today, so you have to do as much- right? Hee hee. I'm sure you'll smoke me!

I'm pretty sure sleeping more = sleeping more. It just feels good. I should really add the sleep counter to my blog. I might embarrass some folks, though, who think they're serious sleepers. They have nothing on me.

you are so funny! Who ever said you need an excuse to take a day off? I think you deserved it for being such a great pacer. Amazing mileage lately too. Happy New Year!
