1 mile:  6:31

5K:  23:37

Half Marathon: 2:04

My first post-high school 5K, in which I thought I was going to die

The first time I won my age division.  Yippee!

My first half marathon, in which I attack Sasha

The time I beat my high school PR for the 5K (as a 31 year-old mommy of 3!)

My first 5K barefooted

Short-Term Running Goals:

I'm just getting back into running after a long break to have my last child.  I would like to race some 10Ks, a half, and a marathon in the next 2 years.

Long-Term Running Goals:

Be the oldest woman to complete a marathon.  Yea!  But hopefully I will also complete some BEFORE I geezer up, like, before I'm 40 for sure.  I think it would be fun to dress up really strange for marathons, like impersonating celebrities and stuff.  Except I don't really like celebrities, as a rule, so maybe I'll have to stick to the age old question of ninja, or pirate.  I say ninja. *Hyah!*

Personal:

I am happily married to James W (Cool Runnings). We have 3 boys and 1 opinionated little girl.  I love reading and I'm also a news junkie.  I am a stinker.

I just ran 3 miles with Christine at 9:52 pace on average.

I finished reading "The Host" by Stephenie Meyer (author of "Twilight"). Any chicas out there read it yet? It is GOOD! I want to talk about it with someone.

*Later* It's been too long since I ran barefoot, so I dusted off the ol' feet and headed out for a leisurely 2 miles. I got a little bit antsy when I heard a song I liked on my Ipod so I ran the last quarter in 1:33. (6:12 pace--that is darn fast for me.) I've never really tried to run fast barefoot. I liked it. I got the tinglies and everything. *Blush* That sounds totally wrong, but you know what I mean... 9:21 pace on average for the whole run.

Hey fast reader! Now I know why you got a little behind on your blogging- ha! I actually just got The Host for Mother's Day and I'm just a couple pages into it. Not sure how quickly I'll read it. I kinda have the attitude that it will make a nice slow summer read. But you'll be one of the first to know when I'm done! Yeah, I have a dog. He's the best! He's almost 2, had him since he was a pup (cocker spaniel) I don't talk about him too much on the blog 'cause I don't take him on enough walks. His exercise consists of chasing the kids around the backyard.

It's true. That stupid book kept me up at night too. I'm doing better, though. It took me longer than 48 hours, so that's progress in terms of my binge-reading issue.

Well, 48 hrs for a 700 pg. book is still mightly fast. I can't wait to get into it! I'm a binge reader too. I'd like to think I can take it slowly, but not sure how I'll do once I finally start it! Glad to hear its good. My friend Kathy has co-founded the biggest Stephanie Myer fan blog out there. You should check it out www.TwilightMoms.com. She told me The Host was a little slower to get into, but once she got about 100 pgs. into it she was TOTALLY hooked. Same for you?

No spoilers please! I just bought it over the weekend and will hopefully get to start it on my trip. BTW, I am coming down to Phoenix 18-20 if you are up for coming to get me for a run sometime!

Talk to me. I have read it and loved it. Took me a little over 24 hours to read it. I am amazed to be related to someone who know someone whose friend is one of the co-founders of TwilightMoms. They are so famous. Loved the series. Also loved The Host. Different. but so engaging. Kristina was more hooked after 3 chapters than she was with Twilight the first time.

I just bought The Host. I will speed read it and we'll discuss. :)
