Prs:

1 mile:  6:31

5K:  23:37

Half Marathon: 2:04

My first post-high school 5K, in which I thought I was going to die

The first time I won my age division.  Yippee!

My first half marathon, in which I attack Sasha

The time I beat my high school PR for the 5K (as a 31 year-old mommy of 3!)

My first 5K barefooted

Short-Term Running Goals:

I'm just getting back into running after a long break to have my last child.  I would like to race some 10Ks, a half, and a marathon in the next 2 years.

Long-Term Running Goals:

Be the oldest woman to complete a marathon.  Yea!  But hopefully I will also complete some BEFORE I geezer up, like, before I'm 40 for sure.  I think it would be fun to dress up really strange for marathons, like impersonating celebrities and stuff.  Except I don't really like celebrities, as a rule, so maybe I'll have to stick to the age old question of ninja, or pirate.  I say ninja. *Hyah!*

Personal:

I am happily married to James W (Cool Runnings). We have 3 boys and 1 opinionated little girl.  I love reading and I'm also a news junkie.  I am a stinker.

5.47 slow, boring miles on "Treadmills 'R' Usville."

But I mopped my floor at the same time using my new irobot Scooba mopping robot!   Hooray for the modern age of technology!  This almost makes up for smog, in my book.  :)

Way to go on that multitasking . . . :D

What movie did you decide to watch today while running on the 'mill?

From Jody on Thu, Jan 03, 2008 at 09:18:26

Way to multi task !! I need to get me a mopping robot. I feel bad that I am going to miss everybody at Painters. I would really like to run it BUT, I am going to be in San Francisco that weekend with my husband. YEAH!!! I have thought about the Striders 1/2 but is just a couple of weeks before the Salt Lake 1/2 and Paula, who I run with, has a free entry because she was injured last year. We will have to wait and see when it gets closer.

Gotta love the running and mopping at the same time!! I just get a little giggle out of thinking about you on the treadmill and your robot in mopping the floor.... just think ten years from now what we can get done durning a run! I get the dinner fixing robot first, because you already have one of those too!!!

What have you got planned for long runs this week? Or are you going to start working your way down?

From Lybi on Thu, Jan 03, 2008 at 10:39:12

James--I was watching "Baptists at Our Barbeque". It is funny, but doesn't have rousing music to get me going faster. Not a great treadmill movie.

Jody--I understand. Just because you actually know Paula in real life you are going to choose her over us. *Sniff* (I am kidding!)

Michelle--I am hoping to get some guidance on what to run for the next couple of weeks. This week I was planning on 5 or 6 each day and then 10 on Sat. What about you?

Great job today! OOH- I'm jealous of your Christmas gift! I have to mop today before the relatives come over- wish I had a robot to do the job!!

From andee on Thu, Jan 03, 2008 at 12:49:19

Wow - I want one of the mopping robots! I hate to mop my floor, which is why every other step my foot sticks!!Maybe I will try to conquer that chore later today. You are doing a great job and getting some wonderful miles in!!

I could've said "loosing the rain forests" but I thought this would be more PC.

PS I am JOKING. Long live the rain forests! And whales, and the ozone layer...and my mopping robot.
