Prs:

1 mile:  6:31

5K:  23:37

Half Marathon: 2:04

My first post-high school 5K, in which I thought I was going to die

The first time I won my age division.  Yippee!

My first half marathon, in which I attack Sasha

The time I beat my high school PR for the 5K (as a 31 year-old mommy of 3!)

My first 5K barefooted

Short-Term Running Goals:

I'm just getting back into running after a long break to have my last child.  I would like to race some 10Ks, a half, and a marathon in the next 2 years.

Long-Term Running Goals:

Be the oldest woman to complete a marathon.  Yea!  But hopefully I will also complete some BEFORE I geezer up, like, before I'm 40 for sure.  I think it would be fun to dress up really strange for marathons, like impersonating celebrities and stuff.  Except I don't really like celebrities, as a rule, so maybe I'll have to stick to the age old question of ninja, or pirate.  I say ninja. *Hyah!*

Personal:

I am happily married to James W (Cool Runnings). We have 3 boys and 1 opinionated little girl.  I love reading and I'm also a news junkie.  I am a stinker.

10 miles outside without fueling (which is a first). Very very easy pace. 1:59 for the whole run. Only the 4th time in my life I've ever put up double digits in one day. Don't know how some of you do this everyday... I can never think of anything interesting to say after these long runs--all the blood is in my legs. My mind is getting simplified by the mileage, I guess. :) .

Anyway, you all know what this run means,,,,

Painter's Half Marathon or BUST!!!

And long live the blog!

Hey thats so fantastic on the double digits and I think you always have something interesting to say, maybe I could take lessons from you:)

I really contempalted a long time on posting because who knows what this may turn into but I just had to tell you great job. I think we all learned a great lesson form those 100 plus posts. We are all human and have out strengths as well as weaknesses. And we all need help in some way or other, yes even myself that is why I joined the blog.

You are awsome and I look forward to meeting you in SG:)

You mix Lybi + Sasha + Me and the Logan guys, and any other passers by and blog posts get killed pretty quick!

I think you will do just fine in Painters, and it won't be as hard as you think it is going to be. You might actually decide you want to do another half marathon someday after you finish.

From Christi on Sun, Jan 13, 2008 at 14:21:20

YAY! I'm so stoked to read that you did a 10 miler today!! And in under 2 hrs- that is really good for a training run. You're gonna do just fine at Painter's. So you are still in I take it? Did you read that pre-race party is now at Steve Hooper's house? Can't wait to see you!!

From Lybi on Sun, Jan 13, 2008 at 17:08:44

Marcie--you always have something interesting to say--usually it has something to do with running really far really fast, though. That's the difference. Hey I saw your "resume" on the Racing Team. You look awesome! You're a famous person now!

Josse, you must continue to comment! That 104 comment post was so awesome--and you contributed a lot. We just need to pick a different day, so those people who are like "OH...MY..GOSH...Not another email about diet!" can get off the hook. Maybe on Monday's post we can talk about prescription drug addiction. I actually have a lot to say about that.

James, yes you and your nefarious Logan crew are quite a force on the blog. Hey, are any of you guys doing Painters?

Christi--yay! Yes, I'm all ready to go to Steve Hooper's house and eat him out of house and home. Are there directions posted somewhere? We need an official announcement. I am also in for trying with all my might to hang with you and Michelle for as long as I can during the race. If I start hurting, though, I won't feel bad about dropping back. My big focus this season is Striders, and I don't want to get injured at Painters. My body seems to be sending me caution signals...

Oh of course I will I was only kidding that was fun. I think it is funning how everyone was so concerned about offending someone. All I was concerned about was making a spelling error. I will look for the post on Monday.

From Michelle on Mon, Jan 14, 2008 at 01:13:55

1. I Have to say that I am thrilled that you are IN!

2. I think that I will be trying to hang with you as much as possible as I am a little nervous about how much I dare push this because I don't know my body enough especially on a long run. And I am with you that my main focus will be striders and my body too has been sending some caution signals and I have promised to back off for a week or two if it will be nice to me untill Sat. It seems everyday a new pain crops up but I'm doing my best to ignore!

3. I can't wait for you to start a thread on prescription drug addiction, I'd love to hear what you have to say about that...I too have some very strong opionions there!

4. I never worry about my spelling errors because I'm not smart enough to figure out spell check and my keyboard at home has a few keys that if you even skim past show up so I always have random letters popping up and I always forget to proof read!

5. I can't wait till friday to actually talk to everyone face to face and actually get a response in person! Yea!!

6. It's not that late but I'm at work and actually have a free minute so I know that I'm talking too much, but what are you planning to wear for Sat. I've been bundling up for so long that I don't think that I have anything in the middle to wear!
