I was going to write a huge report on this race but today was all about Jon. He typed it up very eloquently on his blog so I will let you all look on his blog to see how the race went. I will mention that it was nice running with Paul, Adam, Steve, Bill, and Jon. I did do 1/2 mile warm-up before and after the race. I got a PR on a training run and it felt great. My legs weren't that sore and it made me that much more confident to let it loose and see what happens at St. George. A couple side notes: Paul had to use the potty twice and I had to use it once! At least we were both well hydrated. Also, Paul's time was 2:39:22:50 and my time was 2:39:22:54. He stuck his neck out just a little farther than me. My consolation for taking 3rd in my age division was a smaller moose trophy! Paul and I decided that we should each take a turn keeping the 2nd place trophy in our houses. Paul is so kind. The Garmin measured a little long due to all of the tangents during the race.  Here are the splits that I had but remember to check out Jon's blog:

1-5:54 14-5:46

2-6:02 15-5:54

3-5:53 16-6:02

4-5:48 17-5:58

5-5:59 18-6:07

6-5:54 19-6:12

7-5:54 20-6:20

8-5:48 21-6:08

9-5:52 22-6:13

10-5:56 23-6:21

11-5:51 24-6:24 26-6:33

12-5:57 25-6:31 .2-2:44

13-5:25 = catching up after the potty break!

Thanks for taking me back to my car, I would have never made it if I had to run back! I was impressed that you and Paul let Jon take it in ahead of you. Some guys I know would have paced him and tried to beat him in the end. You will do some good things at St. George in 3 weeks!

Way to be unselfish and be so giving of your time and efforts for Jon. You-da-man

If you set a PR, you have to take at least some credit. And I definitely like your splits more than mine (6:41 vs 6:31 for the slowest). Let me know when you and Paul want your turn with the 1st place trophy, since you two earned it.

Thanks again for everything- I can't describe how much you and Paul helped. And don't forget that I owe you a dinner now.

Logan - great running with you today. I think we all bonded. Let's do it again in three weeks.

From Jon on Sun, Sep 16, 2007 at 22:37:42

I'll pace you guys for, oh, about the first 5k of SGM, if you want. As long as you don't go faster than 5:20 pace.

Did you see the article on you and Paul in the Herald Journal?

From Adam RW on Sun, Sep 16, 2007 at 23:42:36

Logan, It was great to meet you. That pace pack was great. You guys made me feel like I was on a training run and that sure helped mentally. Thanks again and all the speed your legs can take in St. George!

Hello, Logan!

I bought my plane ticket. I hope to be to the expo by 4pm Fri. and then drop by the blog-party after that. Is your offer of a place to crash still good?

Could you email me so that we can chat about it? dannerkt@netzero.net

Logan, if you still have that game room at your parents, I think Marci and I would take it for Fri/Sat night. Is that ok?
