6 miles in the morning.
8 miles in the evening.
I love the smell of fresh rain once it hits the ground. I was in rainy heaven this morning. Should be good weather for my tempo run later this evening.
I got home late from the track meet but hurried up to run on part of the marathon course. I knew the section I would run on (mile 13.5 - 17.5) is not the easiest section of the course but I wanted to do it anyways. I did a 2.5 mile warmup and then went for it. Here are the splits as follows: 5:22, 5:26, 5:30, and 5:33. I was happy with the first mile going up the hill right after the halfway mark but the wind really picked up for the next 3 miles. I had a headwind for the rest of the tempo run. I did a 1.5 mile cooldown to give me 8 for the evening. I realized that I need to be patient through this section of the course and really let it loose at about mile 18. It seems like it is mostly downhill but their is a fair amount of gradual uphill. |
