Personal:

I started running at age 40 (14 years ago!)  I am married to Harold, he is a super supportive husband and we enjoy running and biking the trails along the Wasatch Front together. Between us we have 7 children and 9 grandchildren.  I am really having fun trying new races in scenic parts of Utah, I am a newbie in the ultrarunning world, I am slow, but love everything about it!  I have a lot to learn, but I am enjoying the journey.

This is so dumb. I never get sick, so I am really not handling this well.  The doctor said it is viral and to rest up and drink lots. I am following orders.  I am hoping by Sat. I can get out and run a little.

My biggest loser contest weigh in was today and I was up a pound, not surprised.

I am so sorry you are not better yet. We are past 3 weeks and my son still does not have his voice back and coughs a lot. i still have a cough, but only lost my voice for a day or so in AZ. Whatever this is that is going around, it sticks!!!!

Take good care of yourself.

Larry's throat is still sore and he was up all night. That's the way it goes. Sickness makes us appreciate healthiness.

You will be better and out and about with Maurine on Sat.

Leslie- are you running the utah valley marathon in June? I am seriously thinking about it. Seriously, what do you think? No sunshine blowing ;)

From lelsie on Thu, Mar 12, 2009 at 18:34:28 from 76.23.61.78

Yes I am doing it, nice and slow, as all my marathons will be this year, I am planning on doing all my marathons at around a 5:30 pace, and using them all as aided training runs for my 50 miler in the fall. I think you should do it, you know the course, just another 16 miles longer than the Riverwoods 10, all downhill. You are way more prepared than I ever was for my first marathon, I think you should, then you could do St. George with one practice one under your belt and try and beat your UVM time. Sign up girlfriend!! What's the worse thing that could happen???? NOthing! Go for it!!!

I talked to David and went through my training schedule and I AM GOING TO DO THE UTAH VALLEY MARATHON!!!! Yikes! I can't believe that I just said that! Am I nuts? How slow is 5:30? Can I keep up with you? I bought Peter Pf whats his names book and Jack Daniels' book too. I will sign up for it tomorrow.

Leslie - we have to get that dog in shape. I can't believe how much he was dragging on downhills after only a couple of miles.

You are welcome. Now I won't feel as guilty if we don't take him on Saturday.

From leslie on Fri, Mar 13, 2009 at 00:00:52 from 76.23.61.78

PARTY!!!!! It will be easy, 11-12 min. miles all the way! Glad you are signing up. Red Hot Pink Chicks here we come!!! Yeah Marion!

Maurine, you are too fast for me and now too fast for my dog! We both need to get ourselves in shape!
